Why did it take so long for Dan Mullen to get a better job than miss state?

He did a great job at state but was there for so long. Why did he not get a better job earlier than florida. Even after muschamp was fired at florida Mullen got passed over for the job. Is he not a great interviewer or just his personality?

He had a really good underwear guy in Starkville. That guy finally had to close shop due to Amazon taking his business and when that happened there really was no reason for him to stick around.

Because MSU tried hard to keep him.

Guess he was waiting on the best one

He’s a pretty quirky dude.
It took him years at State to ever win a game he shouldn’t.
He keeps a lot of games like this past weekend close. But never can win them.

We did not hate each other, we interacted a lot and I became really good friends with most of you all on here.

Mullen tried to bail at least twice. his problem is he was a horrible interview and bad timing. He fricked us over a couple of years when he thought he had a job locked up that didn’t materialize and recruiting suffered.

The powers that be at UF were split between him and Freeze in 2014. So our genius AD instead chose a guy who fornicates with sharks.

He is weird and an arse. Needed someplace that is very easy to recruit to. His previous stint as OC helped the admin overlook his quirks.
