Am I missing the part where Arky QBs have done something worthwhile in the SEC in the past 5 years?

Hypothetically, if Arkansas could cherry pick any in-state kids they wanted and never lost Arkansas kids to their neighbors, you could probably field a pretty competitive football team made up of nothing but Arkansas kids. But the state doesn't have enough talent to feed more than 1 perennial top 15-25ish team. If you lose even a few of your in state targets to Bama/A&M/LSU, etc, you have no choice but to hope for the best in other states to fill the void.
Texas has enough talent to field 2 elite level college football teams and 3-4 top 15-25ish teams. Usually that means 2 of A&M/OU/UTex are top 10 teams with almost all Texas talent, while the one left out is a notch down. Then you've got Baylor/TCU/TT/OSU also feeding almost exclusively off of Texas talent, and while not considered mainstays in the top 10, they've all had 10+ win seasons in the last 5-6 years.
That's not the point.
The point is, we get a lot of recruits from both Arkansas and Texas, and the majority of them are in the 3-4* range. So you wouldn't expect that there would be that many more Arkansas recruits than Texas recruits turning into good players.
Either Texas recruits are being overrated or Arkansas recruits are underrated, or maybe a little of both.

Who was better than Mallett or Wilson the last 5 years?
Does winning games or championship count in the analysis?

How many NFL players are from tx? How many tx kids are college all-Americans?
How many NCs have the Texas schools won since 1960, combined?
Over-rated.
Since the 80s the kids keep getting softer and softer, might win you a big12 championship but not much else.

Don't look down on Manziel just because he won't win any NC's.

As Colt McCoy and Vince Young were putting on the burnt orange in the bowels of the Stadium that was hosting the BCS NCG they undoubtably wished to themselves that they had chosen Arknasas

He also had the 2nd highest completion percentage behind McCarron (who had over 100 less passing attempts and 1004 less yards). He was also 2nd in the league in TD's thrown with 24. It was also his first year as a starter.

In 2010, Ryan Mallett passed for 700 yards more than the 2nd place QB in the SEC. 9.4 yards per completion and a 64% completion percentage with a QB rating of 163.7. Lead the league in TD's thrown as well with 32.
In 2009, Ryan Mallett passed for nearly 1000 yards more than the 2nd place QB in the SEC (Tebow). Lead the league in TD's thrown with 30. 152.2 QB rating.
2012 was the first time in 4 years an Arkansas QB didn't lead the league in yards and he still threw for 3300 with a QB rating of 143.8. 62% completion percentage.

You're absolutely right. The last one has 1-3 more championships than all three of them.
