Why are fans so wrapped up in schedules this early in the season?

I've noticed college football fans are using schedules to justify accomplishments, or to discredit certain stats. I'm starting to think the average football fan doesn't actually "watch" football. If you check social media posts about Tua's accomplishments, they are bombarded with comments about Bama's lack of top tier opponents. And even here, LSU fans are justifying their success because they beat a top ranked Auburn squad. It's way too early in the season to use schedules as a measuring stick.

I'm sorry, schedule threads are reserved for 7SU posters only. Please read your SECrant posting regulations manual.

Most teams haven't even played the meat of their schedule is all I'm saying.

Some people are mad that Louisville sucks so bad and didn't give Bama a game.

Thanks for being a shite team and hurting our SOS.

Case in fact. How is this different than any other Bama schedule? They've won championships with similar schedules. I really think LSU fans are trying too hard to justify being 5-0.

It's not just UL, look at Bama's home slate this year:

Arky State
#22 A&M
ULL
Mizzou
State
the Citadel
#8 Auburn

I can't imagine paying top dollar to go to the stadium of the defending national champs for that lineup. No wonder Saban is having trouble with the fans keeping interest in the football team.

Why not try harder to give the fans some compelling matchups at home? Why is the defending national champion playing the fricking Citadel? It's insulting to ask fans to sit around for four hours watching that shite show.

It is what it is, been a tough year. Plus our starting QB got hurt.

Excluding SEC home games, since that's beyond our control, here are the OOC home schedules for LSU, Auburn and Georgia:

LSU:
Southeastern LA
LA Tech
Rice

Auburn:
Alabama State
Southern Miss
Liberty

Georgia:
Austin Peay
Middle Tennessee
UMass
Georgia Tech

They seem to follow the same formula as Bama.

So you're saying Alabama is no better than LSU?

Why is the defending national champion playing the Citadel?

Home conference games are still home games you want people to stay and watch. If your conference home schedule looks like shite, maybe schedule some P5 powers to come to Tuscaloosa.

Alabama has one compelling game on their home schedule - the very last one of the season. That's just a big frick you to the fans. Give them something to watch.

To be fair Bama didn’t know it was going to be defending national champion when that game was scheduled. Statistically was only about a 50/50 chance.

I'm sorry but your schedule is almost as embarrassing. Stop thinking Miami is a descent team, they aren't.

We play Auburn as well we play almost all of the same teams. It goes on a rotation in the East. Sorry we didn't pull UGA this year.

It's smart scheduling.
Saban isn't going to put himself at a competitive disadvantage by playing a tougher opponent a week before the Iron Bowl.

Texas A&M, Auburn and Missouri are all compelling home games. The change is coming, we have scheduled future home and homes with Texas and Notre Dame. I'm sure more quality matchups are coming.
