Why are Bama fans always complaining about BOB when Golding is the real problem?

Score 49 and lose
Score 31 and lose
Best defensive player in the country and he disappears against decent competition.
Few big plays, negative in turnover margin…
Their defense is basic and predictable and if they can’t out-talent you to death their scheme is very beatable.

When the offense goes 3 and out as much as they have been the defense will eventually get tired and give up plays.
Also, golding likes to run those delayed blitzes from 30 yards away from the line of scrimmage.

They're both a problem.
Our offense has good games because of Bryce Young and Jahmyr Gibbs, not because of BOB. His plays are unimaginative and uncreative. He can't scheme guys open like a Sark or Kiffin can. He does not use motion to create confusion and create openings. His offense is predicated on every player doing their job as perfectly as possible, which is hard to ask for in college football. That's why he belongs in the NFL, where all of your players pro-caliber.

Exactly they are both playing off each other making them both even worse. Sark would at least score not putting so much pressure on Golding. His offense would make teams usually have to play catch up and get out of what they normally run so that masked alot of Golding's deficiencies. Now that Bob is there shitting the bed he is on an island exposed for the fraud he is.

They are a two-headed monster. The truth is that a lot of coaches don't want to coach for Saban. He is a an A-hole. He runs the coach rehab not out of the goodness of his heart, but he knows they need a job real bad. He evidently believes he can make up for inferior assistants but he can't.
He coaches the dbs and look at how bad they have played. He failed to deal with the problems at the end of last season. Now we see the results of his inaction. Bama will continue to slide because he has lost his intensity and focus. He needs to concentrate on selling autos and AFLAC insurance.

Better Question: Why has Saban allowed Golding to stay around as long as he has? He's completely sucked as a DC since he's been there.

This isn’t true. We’ve routinely been among the best defenses in the conference. But just sloppy enough to get beat when it matters. He doesn’t inspire confidence or appear to be able to motivate his players, and with the amount of talent we’ve got on our roster - there’s really no excuse for how undisciplined we are at times.

I don't complain about either one. It's Saban's program. He's responsible.

Golding is a problem too. You obviously haven’t watched Alabama games the past two years to ask why we are complaining about BoB.

Way too much to write in detail about this, but to keep it relatively short, BOB uses Saban's current system (modified Erhardt-Perkins), but his concepts within that system are atrocious.
Tendencies are off-the-charts, and he seems to lack any sort of ability to adjust or go off-script when faced with a defensive counter.
Really, really seems to have difficulty recognizing mismatches and exploiting them in-game, or else he just refuses to do so for some reason.
..
A few years ago (because of offensive trends), Saban wanted to move to a 4-2-5, or more likely a 3-3-5 base defense.
Pete Golding was/is highly regarded for that scheme, and was brought in to help the long-term transition.
..
As others have stated, the performances of the two are directly related.
For example, three consecutive drives started at Alabama's 10-yard-line, and BOB called one rushing play (which was averaging 4.9 ypc). All three of those drives went three-and-out for a total of two yards, and nine of those yards came on a BY scramble on third down. The offense did not score a touchdown in three quarters.
Think about what this does to a defense, and how it will have affected them late in the game.
There are several issues that need to be addressed (including defensively), but BOB's is the most glaring and frustrating.

Is part of this because it’s “Saban’s defense”? I truly don’t know if he’s still holding the reins. In my head, a Saban coached team will be Saban’s defense.
Like Pete Carmichael being Sean Payton’s OC. No one blamed Carmichael for bad plays while Sean was there.
This is seriously not a troll, I have no idea what the inner workings are at Bama. Just my outsider perspective.

They can both be a problem and one be worse. IMO, Golding is the glaring problem on the staff. You won't find one fanbase that wouldn't agree that, since Kirby and Pruitt have left, there has been a lack of intensity on that side of the ball for Bama.
Now, should BoB go, as well? IMO, you could do worse, but Bama is accustomed to more, now.
Bama has deeper, more fundamental issues, and I'm not sure that is corrected, necessarily, by simply firing coordinators. Bama, as a team, is undiciplined. Not sure if it is a culture thing or what, but this has become more noticable the more Bama has delved into the portal to fill roles.
There is a reason why Kirby taunted, post UT win, that UGA took 0 players out of the portal.
Culture matters, and I'm not sure if Bama's isn't in the best condition, currently.

Obviously as a Penn State fan I hold BOB in high Esteem as he saved our program when he took over during the Jerry Sandusky nightmare.
Compared to JoePa/Fran Ganter(OC)...BOB was a genius with his new offensive concepts and he was successful with lesser talent because he was beating much more talented teams than what he had.
I agree with you that his system is not good for the SEC because the talent on most every team can make up for a different scheme but at the end of the day the biggest problem is your O-line...they are just bad...trust me...as a Penn State fan I know what bad offensive line play is...we haven't had a great O-line since the 94/95 seasons.

Pete Golding is from the Ron Roberts/Dave Aranda school of defense. Nobody would consider them basic and predictable. It also shows you didn't actually pay attention to the game Saturday. Bama was anything but predictable. Golding threw the kitchen sink at LSU.
