Why are Aubies so annoying?

Is it because they want to be UGA and Bama so badly? Or is it because the school is in the middle of NASCAR nowhere? I mean, your typical AU grad will tell you at a handshake that "my name is Edgar Wimbush and I went to Auburn". Alum of other schools are pretty chill about their matriculation. Why are Aubies such dipshites? Why?
