Why are Alabama fans so insufferable ?

A logical person would think that with all their recent and historical successes that the fanbase as a whole would carry themselves with a little more class and dignity.
So why is it that their fanbase as a whole is so contrarian and argumentative ? They've had success that 3-4 programs combined could never hope to reach.

I, for one, am of the opinion that fans are actually individuals and the behavior of one or more members of a fanbase do not reflect the makeup of an entire group - especially on the internet, where anonymity encourages behavior that would be looked down upon in a real setting.
