Who's the best coach in a major sport that your program has fired?

Not many options from a UF standpoint. Probably Norm Sloan, although one could make a case for Charley Pell or Galen Hall.

We fired Gary Blair and he went to aggie and won a natty with chick basketball.

And we fired Danny Ford,a clemson god.

Mark Gottfried? Maybe?

Maybe Anthony Grant the way he’s improved at Dayton.

Everyone else that can be considered “best” retired.

Grant is going to win a national title this season so yours is probably him.

I think Mike Shula was about to turn it around. We’ll never know because Mal was dead set on Saban. A shame.

It’s a joke, people...

Howard Schnellenberger: 5-5-1 in 1995 at Oklahoma. Was a total drunk and was dead set on making OU fans forget about the Switzer and Wilkinson years. He set out to destroy documents and was always drunk.

Just think of all those meaningless 10 win seasons Shula would have had, if he got his QB in Tebow.

Grant completely relearned the offensive game during his stint in the NBA after UA. Damn, I wish that had happened before he came to Bama. I really liked the guy.

Probably that softball coach that made us a national power but his son was fricking players.

I mean, he technically “retired” but pretty sure that was a nice way of him being fired.
