2008 post Ole Miss loss Florida was pretty amazing. They were on a mission and had great offense and defense.

I am going with the 1899 University of the South (Sewanee) as the greatest team of all time. The Iron Men of Sewanee went 12-0 and played 5 back-to-back games in a row:

Nov. 9, 1899: Sewanee 12, Texas 0
Nov. 10, 1899: Sewanee 10, Texas A&M 0
Nov. 11, 1899: Sewanee 23, Tulane 0
Nov. 13, 1899: Sewanee 34, LSU 0
Nov. 14, 1899: Sewanee 12, Ole Miss 0

They outscored opponents 322-10. Only the barntards with John Heisman as their coach scored on them. Which is ironic since now the barntards have a problem scoring on anyone.

These arguments are indeed pointless. But didn't florida in 2008 have a fullback playing quarterback?

The game has evolved a lot since then.

I'm pretty sure there was a lengthy thread yesterday that more than established 1894 Yale being the best team ever.

I thought it was an investigation about Yale not having to have their train tickets punched on the train to and from the game? Dartmouth, Tufts and the Boston Athletic Association all have to play on a fair field. Why not Yale?
