Chip Kelly is gone
Mullen is gone
Gruden ain't coming
Frost is going to Nebraska

Sumlin and Bert are available

No one with any credibility would touch this job right now, you're going to end up with some Coordinator from a MAC school.

UT fans really think that Schiano would have been hired if better options existed?

Kiffin might still take it, if for no other reason than to up his troll game.

They will convince themselves Tee is a good choice even though he isn't a top candidate for non Power 5 head coaching jobs.

When he is sitting at five wins in year two they will blame him and not themselves.

UT would be dumb not to approach Les Miles. They just need someone to come in and stabilize that program. It's not a sexy hire, but if they're serious about getting their program back to prominence, Les is the best decision, especially now.

I just want a name that UT fans would be ok with that doesn't include Gruden or Peyton Manning, both of which would be terrible hires.

Having no coaching experience, and with millions of dollars dangled in front of me?

Yes, yes I would, and after failing to win a game I'd never need to work another day in my life.

I think that Sumlin would actually be a pretty good hire right about now ... better than Tee Martin.

I think there could be a lot of potential upside for UT...from an image and just short-term stability standpoint.

JMO ... I could be way wrong.

Sumlin isn't coming back to the SEC, the expectations at UT are even higher than at A&M.

A few guys who'd probably want the job:

Tee Martin
DJ Durkin
Mike Norvell

All three are better fits, and no more risky hires than Schiano, irregardless of known a-hole Schiano's PSU baggage. Schiano shouldn't have even been on UT's list.

Not anymore.

After this shite ... UTk would be happy with 9-10 wins next year.
