Kermit Davis or Will Wade?

Will be a tough choice.

If LSU ends up winning the regular season title I think WW gets it.
If we finish 3rd, and Ole Miss finishes 4th I can see Kermit getting it

If Wade wins the conference, no question it's him.

If Wade doesn't win the conference, he might still get it honestly if LSU ended up something like 16-2, maybe even 15-3.

Rick Barnes is in contention, but he was expected to be way up there as well.

Kermit could definitely get it if Ole Miss finishes strong though, say 12-6 or a little better.

If LSU wins the league, Wades got a chance for national coach of the year as well as being a lock for conference.

VOLS win the league and get a 1 seed, the same can be said for Barnes.

UK wins the league and Ole Miss finishes top 4 in conference, I think Kermit may get it.

Negative.

Rick has done a fantastic job, but they were expected to finish 2nd. LSU was projected 6th and Ole Miss 14.

It should be either WW if LSU wins the regular season or Kermit Davis IMO

I didn't meant that as an affront to Wade, he's done a great job, but if you take UT out, then Kermit took over a worse situation and has gotten more of out it.

Wade and Barnes are the only ones who deserve any recognition at all.

Don’t know if they’d give it to Barnes two years in a row. I think Wade gets it

Kermit and it isn’t close. Took the same roster basically and probably gets a team picked last in the conference into the NCAA tournament. Let’s see how TN finished now that they play the portion of their schedule that has a pulse. If LSU wins the regular season title then I can see Wade getting a look.

Go look at how Kermit won at Auburn last Wednesday with a starter out with the flu and your 2nd best player on the bench with foul trouble and still lead the entire game. That has happened game after game this year. It’s amazing.

My pick would be Davis if they finish strong, but any of the three mentioned are deserving.

Gimme the guy who’s taken the consensus last place preseason SEC team and is willing them into the Big Dance on sheer coaching alone, in his first year at that

Will Wade has an extremely young team loaded with talent. One senior on the bench(Bigby Williams)

Waters, - Soph,
Mays, Taylor - Junior
Smart, Reid, Emmitt Williams, Days - Freshmen
Bigby Williams - Senior(transfer from Oregon)

Rick Barnes has a veteran team loaded with talent.

I think one has a bit of an easier task ahead

He somehow bagged a 5* for next year. As long as he doesn't simmons him, they should be improved.

Barnes, Davis and Wade all have made compelling cases to this point and time.
Especially Davis, OM was picked 14th (fourteenth) in the league. Tremendous job there. Ole Miss has a decent shot at finishing in the top 5/6 of the conference.

Now for a darkhorse, if State finishes hot and makes a run in the SEC Tournament/NCAA Tournament, why not Ben Howland? Obviously, he is not the sexy pick but similar to Barnes, he has built his program over several years. So while he has not made a big splash i. e. Davis/Wade in this particular year, what he has done deserves some consideration, provided State finishes strong.

To the LSU fans who would take Wade over Davis, tell me which Ole Miss starters you would take over your own? Davis is COY and if you even pretend it’s close you need your head examined...
