Simple, straightforward question. Which SEC team will field the overall, best defense?
Also, if you'd want to go further into detail by expounding on the defensive units (defensive line, linebackers, secondary), by all means, please do so.

It's too early for me to know shite about other teams and I've barely paid enough attention to really have a feel for Alabama's defense. With that said, I'll go with Alabama's defense bouncing back and being the best in the conference per usual. They were not the best defense last year in my opinion but they basically had been the 10 years before that. Seems like the safe pick.

very safe.
If we can get a consistent pass rush this year, i think we can cause some problems for people.

- LSU, Alabama and Georgia all have a chance to be really, really good defenses at all levels IMHO. For Alabama the 2 biggest keys are keeping our talented veterans on the edge healthy (Lewis/Jennings) and who steps up alongside Moses in the middle.
- Auburn will be good - not sure about their LBs but the Dline is nasty and the back end has some good players
- State will still be good in the back 7, up front obviously tons to replace
- I'm guessing Pruitt at Tennessee and Muschamp at Carolina will have those units better with more talent and some good returning players.

if alabama doesn't produce another quinnen Williams then I think LSU will edge them out. both will be very good.

Alabama and LSU will have the best defenses. They have the best athletes, and good coaching as well

Is this a new defensive scheme? Really giving a new definition to the term "Linebacker".

Huh? How will UGA have a better defense than LSU? Not trolling just looking at their roster they would need some people to have major jumps from last’s year to replace the defensive production if those who have left, and LSU willl be significantly better defensively this year. I know it looks like LSU was like a number 20 defense last year but before the A&M game we were comfortably top 10 and that A&M game dropped us like 15 spots. So I would say that LSU had a better defense than Georgia in 18/19, and will definitely have a better defense in 19/20.

Darkhorse pick -- Auburn. They've got some excellent dlinemen and a great secondary. They'll be tough to score on this year. 2019 Auburn is very similar to 2018 Mississippi State, which was (statistically) the league's best D by a wide margin.
