LSU has won past SEC Championships
An SEC Championship is a successful season
As LSU wins additional SEC Championships, the margin for other teams to win more than them gets larger.
LSU's past success thus "means they will win more championships" as they are adding additional numbers by winning championships. It is axiomatic.

Oh, wait a minute. You are changing the rules on me now. So, SEC Champ = Success. Does anything else = success?

They were your rules. I quoted directly from your post.

Well, THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM. You should, as a rule, NEVER quote me.

I try not to, but you made it so easy to prove you wrong by doing so.

You guys are gonna be experiencing a huge drop off in offensive production next year, and any same person should know that

Thats the dumbest thing I've read in a while. Thanks for the laugh.

Statistically speaking, it is much more likely for A&M to have a larger drop in offensive production than LSU. There is more room for our O to improve than there is room for A&M's offense to improve. And what did ya'll supreme elite offense get you last year? 3rd in the West was it?

FINE. As long as we agree that past "success" cannot be the sole factor in projecting future success.

See 11-2(SEC) v. 6-6(Big Twat)

Based on the discussion above, I think therick711 is highly equipped to address this fallacy.

Take it away therick!

I'd like to think LSU's offense can't get any worse, but I'm wrong every time I think that.

Quarterback is everything. I just remember that Tebow was so great as a sophomore that a really good junior season was actually looked on as poor by comparison. Same for his senior season.

Im not even trying to flame. Ya'lls O is gonna be one of the best in the country for the next few years. But it won't be getting exponentially better production each year. Its not possible. Whereas our O has been sub-par for several years, and has plenty of room to improve, and not as far to fall.

ETA:...ok, maybe the 3rd in the west comment was a weak flame attempt. But its relevant to the convo, O isn't everything.

Tebow was taking in the 1st even after the scouts told everyone he would never make it, and JFF has a better arm than he does.

I honestly think he will be compared to Brees going into next years draft, and be a 2nd round pick at worst, just because of his wow factor.

Where you get drafted is only important money wise. And from what I hear, isn't his family rich?

Why do LSU fans think they will have a good offense under Cameron?

Why did Bama fans think they would have a good defense under Saban?

Proven track record.

Apparently so!

Did the Ravens win the Super Bowl with Cameron's offense? Yes.

The Ravens were 9-4 when Cameron was fired. Ray Lewis was injured in week 6 and didn't come back until the playoffs.

For whatever reason, Flacko became a different QB in the playoffs. He was very inconsistent during most of the year, but the bulb seemed to turn on in the playoffs. He started to hit the same open receives he overthrew during the season.

The Baltimore fans biggest complaint with Cameron was that he passed too much. I don’t think the Tiger fans will have that same complaint with Cameron at LSU.

There was an article today on espn, showing offensive production.

Here: https://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/63681/looking-for-balance-in-the-sec

I also noticed that teams that were balanced and had the ability to run the ball were more successful. That doesn't prove anything going forward, just an interesting note.

LSU's offense wasn't terrible. Comparing it to A&M is not appropriate, given the nature of the offense, but compared to florida and georgia, LSU was not bad at all.

Now, I don't believe that LSU's improvement on offense will necessarily result in better results, nor do I believe that A&M's lower numbers will mean fewer wins. Just saying.

I would tend to agree with this. My original comment was in direct response to the quote someone made earlier in the thread.

I just... don't see Bama continuing their dominance for another 10 years... But then again, I would never have thought they'd take 3 of the last 4.

Next year should be a two team race between Bama and TAM. However, Bama is losing a ton of talent off of the OL. How that affects their offense is a big question mark.

On the other side, TAM loses depth on defense and that is a big question mark. The Aggie offense was a complete mystery to SEC defenses last year, it won't be this year.

LSU loses a ton of talent and experience on defense, and their schedule is a killer. As a result, they should end up playing the spoiler roll along with Ole Miss. in the West.

If Bama didn't get a free ride with their easy cross divisional schedule, even Ole Miss might have had a chance this year.
