Nicky is currently 13-0 against former proteges.

Note that schedules beyond 2019 have not been released.

Possible candidates include:

Billy Napier, UL-Lafayette. Out of conference, Group of 5. Next game scheduled is this Saturday, Sep 29, 2018 in Tuscaloosa.

Jeremy Pruitt, Tennessee. Yearly cross-division series. Next game scheduled is Oct 20, 2018 in Knoxville.

Will Muschamp, South Carolina. Cross-division non-permanent. Next game scheduled is Sep 14, 2019 in Columbia.

Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M. Yearly in-division series. Next game scheduled is Oct 12, 2019 in College Station.

Kirby Smart, Georgia. Cross-division non-permanent. Future regular season game scheduled for 2020 in Tuscaloosa but prior matchup in Atlanta or Playoffs is possible

Mark Dantonio, Michigan State. Out of conference. No games scheduled. Matchup in Playoffs or Bowl game possible.

Mario Cristobal, Oregon. Out of conference. No games scheduled. Matchup in Playoffs or Bowl game possible.

Lane Kiffin, FAU. Out of conference, Group of 5. Matchup seems very unlikely unless Alabama chooses to schedule them in a future regular season game

Others who may be looking for HC positions:

Jim McElwain, former HC of Colorado State and Florida. Current assistant for Michigan

Derek Dooley, former HC of La Tech and Tennessee. Current assistant for Missouri

Steve Sarkisian, former HC of Washington and Southern Cal. Current assistant for Atlanta Falcons

Butch Jones, former HC of Central Michigan, Cincinnati, and Tennessee. Current analyst for Alabama.

Tosh Lupoi, current defensive coordinator for Alabama

The best chance is easily Kirby. Fisher may do it. Joey F. is the dark horse.

Saban tanks against Pruitt. Bama still makes playoffs. Pruitt gets 10 year extension for the upset. Saban rolls off another 10 straight.

The best chance for a master-beater is at A&M.

He'll get a shot in 2020 if he fails to make playoffs this year and next.

I'd say Jimbo because he'll play him every year. Kirby the other likely candidate.

I don't see any of the others doing it in their current positions.

There are no games scheduled against Kirby. 3 of the others have actual games scheduled. 2 of them every single year.

Bama may go 15-0 this year. Maybe Sark or Kiffin take a P5 job and win in the playoffs 2 years from now

Proot gets my vote. It won't be for a few seasons because he inherited a mess, but he clearly has the "it" factor.

Jimbo and Kirby could potentially do it over the next 3-4 years, but I think both will get fired before they can pull it off.
