Gus will at Auburn for a minimum of 4 more years
People probably need to get comfy with that

The question is how much is enough to get him canned? I've seen posters on this board say he can't have less than 7 wins, some say 8 won't be enough. Some say as long as his team is competitive and still loses he'll be safe.

I think losing to our Big 3 again this year will get him fired. Regardless of what else happens this year.

Auburn isn't gonna spend $30 mil to buyout Gus. He is safe.

When all of your rivals are hoping and praying your HC stays, it's time to move on. Keep dreaming if you think that buyout is going to save him. If not for Leath, the big money people were ready to write the check last year.

I mean that idiot Josh Moon came out of the woodwork and reported that crap for days. Then Jay Tate & P Marshall all joined in with their "reports" out of the AD saying Auburn was working to deligitimize Gus' contract behind closed doors with Harbert while the Prez Leath was traveling to DC.

If AU get QB play this year, they will be very good. That is why Gus is upbeat about the season, he knows that it rides on his shoulders. In the past he had to depend on other Coaches (Steele, Lindsey, Lashlee) to determine the season. If it doesn't get done, he can only point a finger at himself.

Possibly

Not a chance. Schedules are no excuse. And it's partially his fault why the schedule is so tough. He has been getting his arse handed to him in recruiting lately, because of his mediocre seasons. That's why the schedule is as tough as it is.

I’d go hard after Mike Gundy if y’all dump Gus. He’s not a big time recruiter but that wouldn’t be as big of an issue at Auburn. Plus y’all have the money to surround him with guys that can pick up the slack in recruiting.

People do not realize that it is not a magic number of wins that will determine his fate. He has to show that he has control of the Offense again, and he can get decent QB play. These QBs are Freshman, so any positive play by them will be credited to Gus's coaching. Gus allowed himself to be talked into letting someone else run the Offense so he could act like a HC. Now he realizes he has to take back the control if he wants to remain. That is what the PTB want to see.

I put Gundy in the same category as I put Mike Leach:
I want to see those guys coach, I find myself pulling for the teams they coach, but I don't want them coaching my team.
Would you want him at Arky?

Which is a realistic buyout for a coach. Auburn is not going to pay a head coach 26 million dollars because he is performing better than the average for Auburn in its history. Some of our fans are brain dead. If someone great came available, they may pay him 10mil or less but not 30 mil. Thats just stupid. If he was crashing, that would be a different story but Gus has done better than the average coach at Auburn and has higher highs than any coach in our recent history
Some of you need to stop listening to the bloggers and use your damn head
It is business

That stubbornness, running the same play over and over with little to no production was Gus. Forcing some players into pigeon holes, his lack of trust of his players, poor roster management and lack of focus on planning ahead by having solid backups ready was all GUS.
