My nephew lost his shite when he got to take a picture with Josh Dobbs during the spring game.
I think my first Vol idol as a kid was Carl Pickens. Then it was Charlie Garner.

I would have said Reggie White, but I was too young to appreciate defense when he was at Tennessee. He's definitely my all time favorite UT player tho.

Former Carolina QB Mike Hold from the '84 team.
Fun trivia fact: He did the QB stunts for the movie The Program.

Basketball - Kyle Macy
Football - Herschel Walker
I used to wipe my socks before shooting free throws to try to be like Kyle (but I wasn't NEARLY as accurate).
I would put pillows in the floor and dive over the couch in my living room with a football tucked in my arm to try to be like Herschel diving over the pile.

Reggie was my first Vol hero. My dad (a life long Kentucky fan) took me as a kid to watch Tennessee play Ole Miss at Neyland stadium when Reggie was there. One of my dad's great sacrifices to let me cheer for his bitter rival.

Bear Bryant. Not from his playing days of course, but when I was growing up in the 70's Bryant had near god like status throughout the South.

Serreneaux
Without him, my love of the VOLS would have never reached the heights they are at now. Such a good team.

When I finally got to meet him, I was 21, it was about 6 months before he died, I was starstruck. My hand was shaking and my heart was pounding when I shook his hand, it was surreal. The GOAT as far as I'm concerned.

My dad's favorite Bama player was Major Ogilvie, so he was my favorite growing up even though he'd stopped playing for Bama 10 years earlier.
