Agree completely. When the Tigers ran the fake FG against SC a few years back, and the replay showed Les giggling and Spurrier humbled, it was one of the most satisfying feelings I've ever had watching football.

I remember that little fake FG toss over the shoulder thing - it was slick, but I do not remember seeing Spurrier humbled. That game was a battle, one of the hardest hitting games I can ever remember and we lost our All-American LB Jasper Brinkley for the season in that game.

Spurrier in the 1990s at Florida

Grew up a Gator fan. He made me quit.

Odd, though, because I think he's great and hilarious, now. I still blame him for the rise of some of the stupid shite we see in cfb today: running up scores, obsession with high-scoring games, etc.

Absolute bullshite

A few vocal and whiny arse LSU fans dislike Saban because other LSU fans think highly of him as a coach. He is respected by most LSU fans.

Spurrier. Bama isn't beating us and running up the score in the dominating fashion Spurrier and the UF 90's teams did.

That's the thing though. LSU was terrible for most of the 90s, so Florida blowing them out wasn't a massive accomplishment. If LSU fielded teams in the 90s like they have now, Spurrier may have split the series throughout the decade at best. That being said, I still believe the 1996 Florida team is their best of all-time.

Spurrier. He would hang 80 on you if he could. He also ruled all of the SEC. And I think he may have had an undefeated season or two. Bama has backed into the BCS two years in a row with one loss seasons.

Spurrier never had an undefeated season. You are aware that most national title teams have a loss right? Unless you begin the season at #1 or #2 and go wire to wire then I guess by your logic then they "backed in"

Spurrier X 1000. SOS has a way of taking jabs at people and teams that Saban doesnt do.

Spurrier in the 90's was seriously obnoxious. Nick not so much.

Spurrier easily. Saban isn't even really hated that much considering all of his success. People hate Bama's program and fan base a lot more than they hate Saban.

Spurrier has never had an undefeated season and lost fewer than two games only twice in his entire career. In one of those years, he got annihilated by Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl. In the other year, he won a national championship. I really don't see how he got screwed out of winning more national championships.

It means Saban and Alabama can not run the score up even, if they want to.

Actually, I think it means you're dumb.

This is one UGA fan that really likes Steve Spurrier. I grew up as a Florida fan, and became a Georgia fan in 2002 when I attended UGA as a freshman...that was Zook's first year, so I never experienced Spurrier at UF from an opposing fans perspective. I graduated in three years, so by the time he was at USC I wasn't in school anymore (and I like what he has done for USC, it is good for the SEC to have another strong team and if a group of fans ever deserved to see their team succeed, it is Gamecock fans). He is a really good coach and funny as hell...when he retires college football will be poorer for it.

Also, I can't think of a reason to dislike Saban outside of being a great coach and recruite, and that's a pretty weak reason. So he's fine in my book.

Coaches like Kiffin and Meyer were coaches I hated. Smug assholes (which Spurrier can be) without the redeeming personality (Spurrier has personality out the arse).
