This thread is pretty damn one-sided even from the LSU fans
I know LSU fans that would give up their season tickets if Spurrier became LSU's head coach.

Spurrier.
Saban couldn't run the score up, even if he wanted to.

I say Spurrier. I know many LSU fans may disagree, but just think back and remember.
Spurrier. Bama isn't beating us and running up the score in the dominating fashion Spurrier and the UF 90's teams did.

The LSU fans who hate Saban exhibit a level of insecurity about their program that cheapens the considerable history and tradition LSU has. The 90's notwithstanding, LSU has been pretty solid more often than not going back to the 1930's.
Saban pulled them out of the abyss, upgraded facilities, and left for a job on a higher level where he was guaranteed full control. That didn't work out as planned and he had a chance to come to Alabama which, from a historical perspective, was even better than the LSU job. I'll concede that at the time, the LSU position was a better job but it wasn't open.
Saban has never been anything but complimentary, almost reverent, about his time at LSU and the respect he has for the program, the school, and the people in Baton Rouge. The rational Tiger fans realize this and while it may be bothersome he is at a division rival, they appreciate what he did for LSU. I suspect it is mostly the young ones, who think football was invented in the year 2000, that harbor so much hatred for Saban. Although I have a 40 something friend who is an LSU homer who loathes the mention of Saban's name. Oh yeah, I rub salt in that wound regularly

quote:Not sure what this is supposed to mean. Do you watch Alabama football? Bama could've easily scored 70 or more against Auburn and several other opponents this year.
Saban couldn't run the score up, even if he wanted to.

It means Saban and Alabama can not run the score up even, if they want to.

quote:Well that's just retarded. I'm guessing you don't watch Alabama football. You clearly didn't watch the Iron Bowl
It means Saban and Alabama can not run the score up even, if they want to.
And that's just the most recent of many, many examples where Bama intentionally stopped scoring and pulled their starters, early in the 3rd freaking quarter

I see by the crimson A next to your name you are an authority on LSU football.

So are you gonna retract your statement about Alabama being unable to run up the score or do you want to continue having everyone know you have no clue what you're talking about?

Probably as much as an authority as you are seeing as how I have followed LSU closely since the late Cholly Mac days.

I appreciate everything Saban did for LSU. But now he does everything he can to deny LSU football championships, albeit indirectly by trying to win championships with Bama. He is the enemy now, and I wish the enemy ill. I can appreciate what he did then, and dislike him now, all at the same time.

Spurrier. I dislike Saban, but he actually shows class to his opponents. Spurrier's fun, and I can occasionally root for him, but he fundamentally has no class.
