The first 3 SECCG were all between Bama and Florida
And 4 out of the first 5

National Title implications in 92 and 96 (at least)
08 and 09 were Bama/UF also, and was an NC semifinal game both years
Amazing.
To the Bama/Florida "rivalry
But from '93 to '01 how many times did y'all beat Tennessee? Once?
Florida and Tennessee pretty much owned the SEC, in the early years after the divisional split. The West was appreciably weaker than the East. That staus quo didn't change until post 2001 when Tennessee began to drop off and LSU began to rise to prominence.

I wasn't even trying to be a dick. The point was quite relevant to the earlier-stated point that the SEC was a weaker conference as a whole in the days of Spurrier.
Take it easy, Francis.

Which was merely a tangential point. I'm trying to stay on topic.

Tangential to the first degree.
Yours was a tangent to a tangent. I was bringing us back closer to the original topic.

Spurrier.

I would say Spurrier at Florida because of running the score up and generally just being himself. He ruffled a lot of people's feathers if memory serves.

Spurrier for Georgia fans for sure.
I hate neither, but respect the accomplishments of both.
Spurrier MADE Florida into a consistent winner.
Saban took an ALL TIME GREAT back to greatness.

Definately Spurrier of the 90s. He would kick our arse and smear mud in our faces. He never let up. Damn they were good.
Posted on 12/5/12 at 8:02 am to genro
spurrier literally went out of his way to piss people off (and still does)
plus, by now people are used to a really strong SEC team being dominate for awhile.
I don't think its even close tbh, why would saban be hated?
