How do UF fans remember Spurrier?

I meant more in the abstract.
Do y'all wish he'd never left? Would he have had as much success as Zook/Meyer/Mushamp (and I know 1 is not like the others)?

So it's the consensus belief of UF fans that Spurrier would have won < 2 MNCs had he not bolted for DC?
Or are there other reasons you don't miss him?

I'd be willing to bet most UF fans consider Spurrier a better coach than Meyer

We love Spurrier. He'll always be the premier Gator (Right along side Danny and Timmy). Would he have won 2 more National Championships? Probably not. Do we miss him? No, we've had two awesome coaches since he left.

I pray to God Meyer has a heart attack every night before bed. But, that has nothing to do with his coaching ability. And it's not just one guy.
Florida fans love Spurrier and hate Meyer. But, nobody is claiming Spurrier would've won more here than Meyer. Meyer was a game away from 3 NC's in 4 years.

People too young to remember the SEC in the 90s need not answer.
Spurrier in the 1990s at Florida
or
Saban in the 2010s at Alabama.
I say Spurrier. I know many LSU fans may disagree, but just think back and remember.
Urban Meyer

Meyer was going up against a much more competitive SEC though. Really Spurrier was only competing against Tennessee and Alabama for most of his time at Florida. He had more competition from outside the conference (FSU) than anything else. Spurrier lost a lot of games to FSU, which is one of the reasons Meyer was revered. His record against our rivals:
Tennessee- 6-0
Georgia- 5-1
FSU- 6-0
Miami- 1-0

Meh, debatable. The only two teams that really stood in his way on annual basis were LSU and Georgia. Tennessee was down nearly every year he was there and FSU was a complete non-factor in Bowden's later years.
By the time Meyer got to UF, they were already established as an SEC power. Spurrier is the one that got them there.

Ok I'm not gonna argue with a Florida fan over whether OBC or CUM was better
Just interesting to consider 2006 for example. If 2006 had been pre-BCS, Florida would've played probably Notre Dame or Wake fricking Forest in the Sugar Bowl, and Ohio State would've played USC in the Rose Bowl. Basically, Florida may not have even had a chance to win the NC that year.
That was one of the advantages provided Meyer that Spurrier did not get to enjoy.

The reason why I hated Urban Meyer but didn't hate Spurrier boils down to personality. Spurrier was a dick, but he was funny. Meyer was just a smug a-hole.
Personality goes a long way.

That was offset some by FSU who was a top 5 team every year during that stretch.

I believe I said that in the next two sentences

The first 3 SECCG were all between Bama and Florida
And 4 out of the first 5
And 5 out of the first 9
National Title implications in 92 and 96 (at least)
08 and 09 were Bama/UF also, and was an NC semifinal game both years
Amazing.
To the Bama/Florida "rivalry"
