LSU did have an academic tutor scandal back when Nick was the football coach. It got swept under the rug. I think the NCAA was impressed with LSU's self reporting and only took some recruiting visits away along with 1 or 2 schollies.

To paraphrase Jerry Takanian's famous quote, "The NCAA is so mad at North Carolina they gave Missouri another year of probation."

Not because it is Missouri getting screwed and I am a Missouri fan but the NCAA has to go. For the last 15-20 years we have heard the so called experts say it is time to reorganize and the NCAA has gone off the reservation because they answer to no one.

Disband the NCAA let the conference's set their own rules. Each conference has a judiciary board to look at each case. Have the judiciary board made up of retired judges from other parts of the country. Example a retired judge who is from Alabama and was a judge in Alabama would be on the Mountain West board. No reason to give them a better ruling or a horrible ruling because the Mountain West would never have a team that would be challenging for a college championship. Have a judge in Idaho be on the SEC board.

The two biggest problems with the NCAA is they are corrupt humans and they answer to no one !!!

Missouri was not going to win the East next year or probably go to New Years day bowl. And baseball and softball would be lucky to get in the tournament. So being banned next year is not that big of a deal in my opinion but it is too harsh of a punishment for this "offense".
