Known for just football? Deion Sanders and it ain't even close.
Overall famous? Probably Burt Reynolds. He would have been recognized worldwide. Football players...not so much when they leave the states.

I agree, though many may not know he played there. He got around in Hollywood no doubt.

Ron Simmons and it's not even close.
One time when we were kids my little brother tried to high five Ron Simmons and missed and got sweaty jerry curl juice all over his hand. My little brother started crying and my mom had to take him to the bathroom to wash it all off.

Prime was before some people’s time. I’ll say Peter Warrick.

Hmm. Between Deion and Peter Warrick, I wonder which one has had more face time on TV over the past 10 years? Did kids who watches Peter Warrick, but not Prime just think Deion was just another analyst on the NFL network before he started coaching?

Deion Sanders, as famous as he is, is under appreciated. His greatness as a corner and a return man can’t be overstated. He might be the best that ever played those positions.

Duh. Famous Jameis Winston. Or that could just be in seafood circles.

I mean, I don't think he's really underrated. He is a HOFer, widely called the best CB ever, and one of the best return guys. Only reason he's just "one of the best return guys" is because Devin Hester broke Deion's records as pretty much a return specialist.
Deion is a lot of things, but under appreciated as a player isn't one.

It’s Reynolds and not even close. People on here are looking through the lens of sports fans. Reynolds was one of the most famous actors in his prime.
