Of course I’m biased to Hilinski, but general, unbiased viewpoint, who is the best of the freshman?

As of right now? I'd say Hilinski, love his game. But I do believe Nix has the highest ceiling

Everyone is just going to say their guy because they have only watched their guy. Shrader is the real deal tho.

There are a few good ones playing well so far this year:
- Daniels at Arizona St
- Gabriel at UCF
- Bachmeier (*sp) at Boise St

Even the USC QB, Kedon Slovis, looked promising when he had to step up as starter.

But, I'm partial to Hilinski, as well.

Need to see a little more from all of them before really jumping to any conclusions

he should. I think he is a RS Junior on a more talented team compared to a true freshman

IIRC Garcia made a bonehead play against Bama where he threw the ball out of the endzone and it resulted in a Bama safety and the epic gif of Spurrier ripping his headset off and tossing them. I'm thinking it was the Bama game, anyway. So Ryan hanging out with Garcia is already showing results.

Being serious, though...just a true freshman mistake in his first road start. Forgivable.

Seriously this shite only happens to us.. never seen anything like it. Yes he's a Freshman but I still don't think I've ever seen that before.

Mizzou effect. You knew something crazy would happen. Always does when we play them.

Helinski, Shrader, and Nix will all be stars in the next three years. Only time will tell who's truly the best.

As for current speculation though? Shrader completed 77% of his passes and ran for 125 yards in his first start, against a conference opponent no less. Nix hasn't completed 77% or higher in four starts, and has ran for less than 125 yards total. Helinski completed 80% on Charleston Southern but has managed to lose 11 yards on the ground.

I'm more than happy with having Shrader over the other two.

The difference between the three, nix and shrader are dual threat guys, Hillinski is a pro style pocket passer. Take away sacks and he has a couple decent runs, and a TD run.
