I want to be familiar with him when LSU fans inevitably call for him to be the starter after the first game of the season.

Yep. LSU fans will get mad about this but 2019 is literally the only year where there hasn’t been a considerable portion of the LSU fanbase convinced that the wrong guy is starting.

2019 is one of the only times that we've had a legitimate QB in a legitimate offensive system.

I don't remember any complaints about Matt Mauck or Matt Flynn starting for LSU's other national championship teams. Did Georgia fans complain about the starters for the national championship teams in your lifetime?

diddydawg7: As another LSU poster said, with Miles, who new what we had as QB or did not have? Even the 2011 season, what if Miles had just evolved a little and when with Mett and threw it say 10 times more a game with Odell, Jarvis Landry, Randle, etc.
Mett in 2012 and 2013 and Burrow in 2018-2019 and outside of Miles first 3 years (JaMarcus 2005-2006 and Flynn 2007) LSU's QB situation was a crap show.

We all loved Mettenberger. Also JaMarcus in '06 as well. Amazing what can happen when a real offensive system is put on the field.
