He was born 10 years after Bear coached Bama. I know this may be a shock, but not everyone in the country knows who coached Bama 30 years ago, especially players born around 1990.

I mean that's the equivalent of being a physicist and not knowing who Einstein was.

It has nothing to with being an "Updyke."

Speaking of "Updykes" has the cast of Swamp People enjoy running out on the field at every game or was that just a rumor that they were. (Serious question)

i was born in 1988, all i can tell you is that he wore a checkered hat, and he coached at Bama.

I'm a huge football fan, but I don't look at gump history much.

When it comes to Bryant is more than just Alabama football history, considering he coached at countless schools, and has a few awards named after him. He also Change the way the game is played and is the reason why rules were changed in recruiting and the way the game is seen on TV.

But hey what do I know I'm just a "bammer gumpass updyke" right? I don't know how to open a book, watch a doc. or read an article on the history of the game without coming across the man's name.

You so mad bro.

Does it really upset you that a guy who grew up in Louisiana and plays for LSU doesn't give a frick about an Alabama coach from 30 years ago?

Seriously, why the frick should a 19 year old know who the frick Bear Bryant is?

The guy stopped coaching 30 years ago. No one cares anymore except gumps.

Gumps being self important Gumps. They all know the pet names of Bear Bryants pubic hairs and expect everyone else to do the same.

At least in this thread, I think the gumps have some very pretentious ideas about Bear Bryant's legacy. This should come as a reality check that virtually no one outside Alabama cares that much about Bear Bryant.

Besides, it's not like he said something really stupid, like not knowing the difference between Thomas and George Jefferson.
