I’m surprised Texas isn’t on there. They’ve been there like 87 times

State has won there first 2 games 2 out of the last three trips. We still have three more games left. I hope we can get this done.

I just did SEC schools, brother. Took me a bit. Edited to indicate my laziness.

They’ve won their first 4 games 5x too. In their 6 title seasons, they’ve only played in one elimination game (not including winner take all title game obviously)

If I'm mathing correctly, Bertman won 29 games at the College World Series.
Looks like South Carolina is the only SEC school with more than that in program history.

Correct. Mainieri was 11-10 at LSU in Omaha. Laval was 0-4. Bertman was 29-13.

It figures it would be the Tigers. Always liked LSU baseball. The fans are baseball people. They aren't fair weather baseball fans like some of the other SEC folks I won't name here. Hey here's a Carolina streak they may never be broken. From 2010-2012 the gamecocks won 22 straight baseball tournament games to include 3 straight trips to the final, with 2 national champeenships and one runner up. BTW, go Bulldogs! MSU fans are also baseball people and I am pullin for ya boys.

Any percentage on teams that win it all after starting 2-0?
I think I read the other day that over 80% of the last 40 champions won their opening game. So I can only imagine the percentage for 2-0 is pretty daunting
Bulldogs in a great spot currently

Just went back and counted since the CWS expanded to 8 teams
50 of the 70 champions started 2-0. Pretty solid odds.

How many CWS Champs went undefeated in Omaha? I think LSU did it 2 or 3 times.
