You're in denial if you don't think Watkins will get touches on reverses, bubble screens, etc.. Returns kicks as well, though that may be moot.. Watkins gets >14 touches.. He's a legit Heisman candidate..

Why the frick does Clemson get this game again? We play Va Tech in Atlanta again next year. Is Florida State, Miami, and Georgia Tech being ignored, or do they just not want in?
Posted on 5/12/12 at 4:11 pm to harmonics
Hotel room sales is the reason Tech wont get an invite.

Clemson will not be anywhere close to a top 10 team when the season opens.

They might be, you never know.
Look at them at the end of the 2007 season and the beginning of the 2008 season. They were ranked #20 at the end of the 2007 season before they played and lost to Auburn in the Chick-Fil-A bowl (they were ranked #15 before they played and lost to WVU in the Orange Bowl last year). Then, when the 2008 season began and they played Bama in the Georgia Dome, they were ranked #9. They went from #20 to #9 after losing their last game.
I'm not saying it will or won't happen, but it's possible. And it'd help Auburn if they were top 10 or close to it. They've got a lot of hype going with them right now.

Clemson beating Auburn last season was a fluke....wont happen this year. Auburn should come out and dominate both lines of scrimmage....

I'm hoping so.
Their lack of experience should hurt them there, and BVG runs an attacking defense.

It would be obvious that he played Watkins against Auburn because he was desperate for a win.
And I'm going to lulz if he starts Watkins and Clemson still gets their

An ESPN way to early poll has Clemson #18
Not definitive of course but probably close gauge of how season starts....fwiw.

I wasn't being completely serious with that

Even if Watkins somehow doesn't play, Clemson will have what once was their stud "go-to" WR before they brought in Watkins, in DeAndre "Nuke" Hopkins. Hopkins was 2nd behind Watkins in receiving last season with 72 receptions for 972 yds and 5 TDs. Next would be Jaron Brown (31, 406, 4).
But interior lines will be an issue with Clemson: at OL, they lost Price, Walker, and McClain as primary starters. They also lost part-time starter Smith and veteran reserve OL in Cloy. When Price went down with injury towards the end of CU's season, they struggled to really a combination to fill his spot at LT by shuffling the other OL.
RG McClain and RT Walker started every game last season at their positions. All told, Clemson lost 46 of 70 OL starts from last season, returning the lone starter at OC in Sr. Freeman (14 starts). Here is their projected depth chart at OL:
LT Jr. Brandon Thomas (10 starts in '11)
Fr. Isaiah Battle
or Fr. Shaq Anthony
LG So. Kalon Davis
So. David Beasley
OC Sr. Dalton Freeman
Fr. Ryan Norton
RG Jr. Tyler Shatley (who played DL in '12)
So. Reid Webster
RT So. Gifford Timothy
Fr. Joe Gore
So there's a ton of youth and inexperience along the OL, especially into the 2-deep...
On the DL, only Sr. DE Goodman returns, and he was the worst of the starting 4 from last year. The other 3 spots will be taken all by sophomores in DT Grady Jarrett, DT DeShawn Williams, and DE Corey Crawford. Williams had 1 start in '11: Shatley, now on the OL, had 2 starts. The others beyond Goodman have 0 starts. Their 4 backups on the DL consist of 1 Fr. and 3 So. So the DL is younger and less experienced than the OL is....
Their LBs and DBs fairly experienced, losing only DB Coty Sensabaugh. But IMO where Clemson was weakest last season - and where they lost their games - was at the LOS....and they should be much worse in this area this season than they were in '11....

This. I want to see Frazier back there. If he's not ready now, when will he be?

Auburn's Scout site recently did a list of the Top 12 players who's stock is rising after Spring Practice, and Frazier was easily #1. They said he is becoming a leader and has a good grasp of the offense already. I can't wait to see him in action

Dabo is a goofy retard but he isn't completely stupid. After what happened on that fateful night in South Florida, he can't afford to open this season up on the wrong end of an arse beating. Watkins will play. If he is suspended at all it might be for the first play of the game so he isn't named a starter.
I think you will see a very active investigation of the charges. Dabo will be preaching it right up till wednesday after the Chik Fil A game. The truth will miraculously come out and he will be suspended for the 2nd and 3rd games.
Id almost be willing to bet on it..

After sitting through that game in Clemson last year, and listening to D-bag Dabo's rant after the game....I hope we run it up on them.

The last game wasn't as close as the score, in my opinion. It mostly depends on whether or not Clemson's line play is decent and if Watkins is eligible. Clemson has two Heisman dark horse players in Boyd and Watkins - if the o-line can keep pressure off I think final score is something like Clemson 41 AU 24. If the pressure is tough I think it'll be close and the game will be within 7. If Watkins is suspended I think AU could win by 10+.
