13-0 Alabama - SEC Champions
12-1 Georgia - SEC Runner up
11-1 Notre Dame - Only loss to #1 GA
12-1 Clemson - ACC Champ
12-1 Oklahoma - Big 12 Champ
13-0 Wisconsin - Undefeated Big 10 Champ
12-1 Washington - Pac 12 Champ

This scenario could play out and if so holy shite at the chaos it would cause for the committee.

Bama and ND are in. But if you put in ND how can you leave out UGA who's only loss would be to #1 Bama at a neutral site and beat ND on their own field.
(I put UGA as the 1 loss SEC team because I think they have a better claim to be in than a 1 loss Alabama would)

So 2 SEC schools and ND leave only 1 spot left for the other 4 champs.

Best 4 Teams?

Bama, Georgia, ND, Oklahoma

The 4 the committee chooses?

Bama, ND, Clemson, Oklahoma

I agree with this. If Bama and UGA win out till ATL then the loser stays home.

If UGA loses in the SECCG game and doesn't make, but ND does, then there is an issue with the selection committee. Notre Dame needs to be penalized for not competing in a conference and not having to play in a conference Championship game. The conference Championship game is serving as a pre playoff for many teams. Alabama Georgia is just one example.

I think if Bama loses they stay home.
If UGA loses, how can you justify ND getting in over them.
Both have 1 loss. Neither is Conference champ. And UGA beat ND head to head.

I'd leave ND out as I couldn't justify them without UGA and there is no room for two SEC schools in that scenario IMO.

Plus, it punishes ND for not having a CCG. They need to join the ACC or B1G and move on.

1. UA (no brainer)
2. Clemson (would be undefeated if not for a QB injury on the road)
3. Wisconsin (could be #2, but SOS and even CCG match is already diluted)
4. Oklahoma (Iowa st bit them, but they keep impressing and likely have the Heisman winner at QB)

5. UGA (deserving, but no room)
6. ND (not without UGA)
7. Maybe Udub, but not sure if other 1 loss teams available at the moment. The PAC is not going this year.

There is zero chance ND gets left out no matter what else happens. They will have the strongest resume of any team under consideration.

Right now unless they blow out someone in the B1G I'd say odd man out is Wisconsin.

His is slightly different. You have UGA winning in the conference Championship and he has Alabama.

This is probably the outcome, assuming that hypothetical comes true. But, odds are, the hypothetical doesn't pan out. ND could slip up against Miami, or Miami could lose to ND but then beat Clemson. OU probably isn't going to run the table in the Big XII, including having to win a rematch against someone.

For UGA to get in with one loss, they are going to have to have ND win out and play a close SEC championship game (although I don't see the latter being much of a problem--they should give Bama all they can handle, and wouldn't surprise me at all if they won, in which case Bama would be left out, period).

Just asking ... No reason to get upset about this ... How is your excellently developed matrix altered if MSU beats Bama this weekend in Starkville?

I can't make it make any sense. Everyone else we have defeated this year has been immediately reclassified as a nobody. Would that also happen to Alabama?

Curious minds and all.

Bama
UGA
Clemson
Oklahoma

Dame is automatically eliminated because of no championship game. Wisconsin doesn't get in because of a pathetic SOS and Washington doesn't go because of a crummy loss and SOS.

Not saying its right, but that is who goes. Clemson may get picked over Oklahoma, but I doubt it.

I wish that was the case but you know the committee is putting in a 11-1 ND no matter what.

UGA gets fricked in that scenario and ND gets the nod.
