If in a few years college football just became a 30-40 team elite power league with no conferences and all the best schools/markets/programs around the country and broke away from everyone else. Where every week you had matchups like Oregon-Auburn LSU-Texas Texas A&M-Clemson ... who would make the cut?

Far better just to do it like Soccer Premier league. Top group with lower levels. Then have promotion and relegation. It would be Alabama and maybe UGA participating in the A league but at least other teams like LSU might be able to finally win their division.

Bama
Auburn
Georgia
LSU
A&M

Potential:

Mizzou
South Carolina
Florida
Tennessee(Yes they had a bad game, but if they get a good coach they can definitely make a return to prominence. Just doesn't seem to be Pruitt)

Doesn't make the cut:
Vandy
Ole Miss
Miss State
Arkansas
Kentucky

10 win seasons the last 10 seasons

Arkansas- 2
Tennessee- 0

Winning seasons the last 10 seasons
Arkansas- 6
Tennessee- 4

Head to Head record the last 10 seasons
Arkansas leads 2-0

Like I said, if Tennessee can get a good head coach, they'll be back.

Why? Because they recruit at a different level then all the teams that didn't make the cut.

And that's while they were down. If they get a half decent coach to do something with all that talent, they'll be a top team again.

Why did you put A&M at the top then? Doesn't Miss State have a better record than them? Going down, Florida and Mizzou have won their division. What has LSU done the last decade?

Your initial post is all over than can be picked like a mofo.

Couple of things.

Football didn’t start 10 years ago. Tennessee has titles, resources and potential. The program is on a massive decline. This past 10 years was like the 90s from LSU. They need a homerrun at HC. Nut up like A&M did.

Also your 10 wins were 8 and 9 years ago. You’re projected to win 1 conference game. Don’t act like your a program that’s been on the rise recently like A&M.

I hope to never see something like that. College football has changed enough over the last decade. I couldn't imagine a scenario where Arkansas or State didn't even have a chance at the playoffs.

A forty team league would have like 8 teams from each major conference so the 6 left out of our league would likely be:
Arkansas
State
Ole Miss
Kentucky
Vandy
South Carolina

Like I said though, it would ruin it for me.

Played in a national championship game?
Finished in top 6 multiple times?

Like it or not, LSU is relevant, even when down.

I hate to break it to you but Tennessee ain’t ever coming back. They haven’t fielded a respectable football team in over 12 years and they’ve thrown just about every kind of coach at the problem. Their recruiting rankings clearly don’t matter. Even small schools like MState and Ole Miss don’t go 12 years in a row at being that bad. We poke fun all day, but TN is done. They are not a big time program anymore.

It doesn't change the fact that Arkansas will probably never be relevant

At least Tennessee has a shot at being relevant again

I never said LSU wasnt relevant. LSU hasn't won their division in the last 10 years though like Florida & Mizzou has - even if the East is shite.

Stop sucking off Tennessee, you're not going to help them.

I'm also not claiming anything for Arkansas, just pointing out we are better than Tennessee over the last decade.

Please share your accomplishments since 2011.
You’re the idiot that said LSU hadn’t won the division in a decade.

LSU
Auburn
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
A&M (if 30-40 teams...but on the bubble if only 20 teams)

I'm not sure if Tennessee would quite make it. It's been a long time since they have had a really good team.
They MIGHT make it if there is 30-40 teams. If it were 20 teams? Probably not.

The problem with this thinking is that if you did the same thing in basketball a lot of us would be in trouble. Sure, we have some good years, but consistency is a problem.
