They will have a $100 million plus coaching budget to spend. Could they upgrade with someone better?

After 10 years in the SEC, A&M is one of the most attractive jobs.

Worst Case Scenario. We promote Elko our DC. And hire a top offensive coordinator.

Not a bad option. Elko is solid as they come and I want to keep him in CS for as long as possible.

If throwing money around to accomplish similar results is what one considers attractive then no doubt.

A head coach in Texas, with no income tax, loses 38.5% of his income to the IRS.

A head coach in Louisiana, with a state income tax, loses 42.3% of his income to the IRS.

Basically, for every million dollars you earn in Texas, you lose 385,000, while for every million you earn in Louisiana, you lose 423,000.

In other words, for every million per year your salary is, it's worth $38,000 less PER MILLION in Louisiana than it is in Texas.

None. However, for every million per year your salary is, it's worth $38,000 less PER MILLION in Louisiana than it is in Texas.

In order for LSU to provide Fisher more take home income than he currently gets at A&M, they would have to raise his current salary by $361,000 per season over what it currently is beginning in 2022.

Well yeah, but College Station is a coaching black hole that not even Bear Bryant could win in.

What's that worth?

In Alabama, Saban loses 41.7% of his income to the IRS every season.

That means his salary would be worth $6,000 less per million in Louisiana. LSU would have to pay him $63,600 more per year than he's currently paid at Alabama to MATCH his take home pay.

None. There is no monetary penalty owed A&M if Fisher leaves.
