Alabama
Ohio state
Clemson
Georgia
LSU
Oklahoma
Notre dame
Oregon

These are really the top tier programs at the moment I think. Recruiting proves that.

Alabama(titles)
Ohio State (dominance over conference)
LSU ( always in it most years) (nattys)
Georgia ( dominated the east for the most part now)
Clemson(nattys)
Oklahoma ( always highly rated and solid every year)
Notre dame (same as Oklahoma)
Oregon ( they have been in the mix of it for sometime. Have dominated the PAC 12 for awhile it seems.

These are my elites at the moment.

Anyone that could be added?
Anyone that should be removed?

It depends on your definition of elite but it's pretty much Bama and Clemson and everyone else chasing them. OSU might have a case for elite. Certainly not UGA until they get over the hump and win it all.

Tier 1:
Alabama
Ohio state
Clemson

Tier 2:
Georgia
LSU (this year hurting that claim)
Oklahoma

Tier 3:
Notre dame
Oregon

large separation between 1 and 2. but close between 2 and 3

Shockingly, I honestly do believe Georgia is a elite program.

But I do believe your right in Clemson and Alabama at the moment.

Top tier
Alabama, Clemson

2nd tier
LSU, Ohio state

3rd tier
Georgia, Notre dame etc

Georgia the last few seasons have played in like 3 sec title game ( won 1 )
And have a win in the playoffs and lost on a historic play to not give them a natty.
They have ran into very good Alabama LSU teams to keep them out of more playoffs as well imo.

Georgia is elite in my mind.

Big mad.

Not even a reference to A&M and you bring us into the conversation.

How is Oklahoma elite. I honesty believe this years LSU team could beat OU. They benefit greatly being in a garbage conference for football.

Their offense is elite usually.

Their defense is the crackhead passed out behind a Big Lots.

You have to give it to them. Every year they are solid.

Have owned the Big 12.

Getting atleast to the playoffs is tuff to do.
So ima give them credit.

Calling Oklahoma elite after they’ve lost every playoff game they’ve been in feels like a crime

Oklahoma is all offense, no defense. And I mean none. They will never win a playoff game until some of that is corrected.

How I would rate them

Bama
Clemson
Ohio State
LSU
UGA
Oklahoma

Got that right.

But there is always that surprise team each in every year (coastal Carolina)

But I mean your right. It’s boring I guess for other teams that aren’t it.

Clemson was by no means elite before 5-6 years ago. It is possible to make it into the club. It's just very very hard.

Beginning next year, add UNC to the Tier 2 elite program.

Tier 1 is staying the same for the foreseeable future - as long as the Playoffs are limited to 4 teams.

Elite teams don't lose to teams like Florida State and Virginia in their best season in decades.
