I have to imagine it would be Georgia, right? Especially for Auburn people.

Who cares? If UGA wins it all, they earned it.

I'd much rather our new coach win a national championship, IMO

I think if Georgia and Alabama played each other for the National Championship, they could say they beat both teams. That would give their team credibility by beating the two teams in the big game, plus beating the team that beat one of the teams that beat them.

However, LSU fans would somehow turn it into a National Championship for the Tigahs.

Don’t really care either way. I guess UGA, simply because the don’t have a recent NC.

Competitively, I would think UGA given their recruiting situations.

Fine with me. As long as it’s your new Defensive Coordinator with the Natty

I would rather UGA win 1000 NCs than Bama win one.

It would crush auburn if we win, aboslutely crush them. Bama winning is old hat, it's routine at this point and isn't going to really do much to change either program.

Right now, pretty much the ONLY thing au can hang their hat on with us is a more recent natty (although we both just have 1 since 1960..). We have more wins, more SEC titles, more head to head wins, better winning percentage, just about better everythign other than a more recent national title. If they lose that as their main talking point they will self destruct.

UGA would be worse from a recruiting standpoint. At this point, Bama may as well win another.

frick Dabo, Boomer Sooner.

Not in the slightest. You'd get a "Well, frick." That's about it.

Auburn and Tennessee compete more directly with UGA in the state of Georgia for recruits so they definitely don't want Georgia to win it. Bama winning would just maintain the status quo in recruiting.

well AU really doesn't have one in 57 either IMO due to probation but I figured I'd allow it. My point was that going allllllll the way back to the 60s both teams only have 1 title, so it's not like we're comparing apples and tennis balls, but AU does happen to have one far more recently which kinda gives a leg up in that department. If you take that leg up away you've basically got nothign, other than a more recent heisman but wgas

Pretty sure his point is that there is two total for both teams. There is not arbitrary numbers. It should always be total trophies. Arbitrary numbers come from posters (not just Auburn posters) picking out a year to back up claims, forgetting that to get a full picture you go back to the beginning. Just because a team wins something 5,10,15,20 etc years ago does not make it more valuable than one won 40,50, 60 years ago. They are both titles.
