In the next 40 years? Going for programs that have not won a title in at least 30 years or so, just to make it fair.

Georgia Tech
Washington
BYU
Colorado
SMU
Georgia

It may seem obvious because one has a recruiting advantage being the top dog in a hot bed Southern State, and with only one other program in State compete with, but their competition has gotten a little better the last few years. So it may not be the immediate answer that comes to mind in Tech.

Washington is certainly a good pick. They are the only program on this list with a strong, passionate fan base that creates a hostile road environment, so they would be a good selection too.

Either way. I know it's hard to imagine, in the current CFB landscape that is, any of these mid-tier programs reaching the mountain top as they each did a few decades or so ago. Still. Will be interesting to see which one of these programs(if any do, mind you) will see relevance again in the future.

Would hate for an entire generation of fans to never see a title for these once proud schools.

You think Florida will get one in the next 40 years? I say Nope! will be ashamed to see your rivals jump ahead in the near future because Florida continues to lose to UGA!

It must suck to have a three game losing streak to a team that hasn't won a title in 40 years.

We've won three since 1990.

I think we've shown enough to fairly say yes. Though going on 12 years is pretty rough I do admit. Sad we can't celebrate 2 straight BCS wins because, unlike teams on this list, we set higher goals.

So you can predict the future winning of National titles?

I know we kid UGA, but they are overdue imo. Realistically they should have a national title and multiple of them like UF and LSU. They have the resources

2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017 were all years when we got close but came up a game short. shite happens.

You would think.

Yet every single "national power" or prestigious program has won one since they have.

Every. Single. One.

At some point...you just got to call it what it is.

They are just aren't elite. UF luckily will take back the division, as we have controlled it since it's birth.

Congrats for all those trips to Lesion Field and the Georgia Dome.

Mizzou has been to the SECCG as many times as UF as since the conference expanded to 14. But I bet that VHS you have of Terry Dean tossing the ball over Alabama in the '93 SECCG makes you feel better about all that.

UGA needs to mold itself like Clemson has done. I know it’s easier to do it in the ACC, but Clemson and Athens are only 90 miles apart. UGA needs to become the new Clemson

Working on it. Clemson not only has talent everywhere but they have leadership and buy in from every guy in the team. Ever since the Fields class, Kirby has taken a decidedly different approach to the character of guys he is bringing in; a lot more focus on off the field intelligence and strong family background (which is why as bad as we wanted Evans talent, Kirby wouldn’t poison the well a second time). Hence you’re seeing him fight for out of state guys across the country when there are in state guys just as good (that’s not meant as an indictment of in state guys like Gilbert who are insanely talented and come from good households, sometimes you just miss at a position and have to look elsewhere). Seems he learned in 2018 that you can only out talent so many teams, have to have leadership and cohesion up and down the roster to put it all together.
2017 had leadership and talent for days that carried the team. And then a lot of it graduated or went pro.
2018 there was very little leadership left and a lot of locker room dysfunction and it culminated against Texas.
2019 was better but still lacking due to youth (Fromm and Swift and Reed can only do so much).
2020 should finally see us turn a corner in that regard as a lot of the juniors and sophomores have aged into their roles on the team and the freshmen from last year and the EEs this year have been a breathe of fresh air in terms of personality. Thing is, culture tales time to build (which is why Clemson and Bama have a leg up on everyone in that department) so who knows if Georgia has spent long enough cultivating what they need between the ears to make the talent go full stop.

All you had to do was not let Lindsay Scott make a 93 yard catch and run in the final minutes of the game.
