A&M beating Clemmy or the Gamecocks beating the Dawgs? These are easily the two biggest SEC games of Week 2, so what have you?

FWIW I don’t think either is likely at all, but if I had to pick then maybe A&M?

I say Gamecocks over the Dawgs is more likely to happen.......and when I say that....even that is not likely.

The difference is that Jimbo gives Aggy a chance.

Lines
Clemson -12
Georgia -10

ESPN FPI
Clemson 68.5%
Georgia 73.3%

I would say it would about even.

And I want to clarify that I’m not subliminally insinuating anything here. Neither of these upsets will happen as far as I’m concerned. Just convo.

I called them Clemmy in OP, but they have a really solid group, A&M ain’t touching that.

A&M over Clemson. Mond can escape the pocket and get away from Clemson's DL. A&M will surprise some people this year. But both could happen. UGA has struggled in WBS.

Honestly, gamecocks over UGA. UGA lost a lot from last year. Although I'm optimistic that A&M can keep it respectable, I don't think that the Ags can beat an elite team in Jimbo's 2nd game coaching.

Clemson has a stout DL, but their offense isn't that scary with Kelly Bryant at QB

Idk, Bryant’s got some legs on him. His arm can be really good given the situation. We’ll see throughout the season if KB struggles enough for them to be concerned

I do like Mond at QB, I just want to see how he will react to that nasty defense. Hopefully nerves won’t get to him and cause costly mistakes. Turnovers could be bad if the decision making dips in quality.

Clemson's D line is the biggest mismatch for A&M in the game and while Mond has decent speed, but I don't think I'd call him quick. Gonna be a problem.

Clemson's lack of offense will give A&M a solid chance.

Bryant actually doesn't have many big # games.

He's passed for >250 yards just 3x. (252, 272, & 316)
He's thrown more than 1 TD just 3x. (3, 2, 2)
He's eclipsed 100 rush yards only once (106, 4.8 ypc)
If you combine pass yards & rush yards he averaged only 248 per game last year.

As a team, Clemson was 54th in yard per play and about 31 points per game offensively. It's not bad, but its far from elite.

For the survival of SEC Rant I say Gamecocks over the Dawgs.

This message board could not survive Aggies over Clemson
