Which SEC team comes out the least "finished" to start the season?

To be more specific on the topic. Who comes out and looks the worst compared to how they will look by the end of the season?

Contenders:

Tennessee - Tennessee should be close to a polished product because of the amount of returning players and coaching continuity. The Covid Virus hit them at the worst possible time though. According to 24/7 sports Josh Pray, they will be still going through their "camp" when the season starts. So it's highly likely Tennessee on week 1 is very different than Tenn by mid season.

Georgia - The defense for Georgia should be elite already in week 1. The offense is another story. The whole offseason they installed a new offense with assumed starter Newman. His opting out has had to screw up a huge part of the offensive plan going forward. Add in their second best receiver is out, and it means unproven WR's again for Georgia this season.

LSU - Lost a majority of the pieces that made them elite last year. Still have a lot of talent, but it isn't exactly proven talent. Lost their guru offensive coach, lost their DC, lost their Heisman QB. Their best receiver(best in the nation) opted out. A lot of new pieces for LSU and week 1 could be rough.

There is obviously a lot of new head coaches as well, so you can put any of the Miss State, Ole Miss, Missouri teams in this group as well.

Who does the rant think comes out looking the least finished?

I think Georgia. I think by mid season they will look like a top five team, but they may have two losses by the time their potential is reached.

Of those, I would guess either Georgia or LSU. Both have some very talented players. I'll go one step further and Say Georgia is less polished. Hopefully we don't look bad, but with a new OC, newish offense, new QB.....seems logical it will take a few weeks.

Eh, everybody assumes we will have a rebuilding year anyway. Worst case scenario imo, we have a rebuilding year. But then return a lot of experienced talent in 2021.

LSU. The team MSU will see will be different than the one UF sees 3 weeks later. The team Bama will see in Nov will be either the worst or best version of LSU. Best if we get on track and better as the season progresses or worst if we've lost a couple before and pretty much mailed it in. The Bama game is always our test of how the team is mentally even if winning the games beforehand.

Auburn, the answer for this is always gonna be au. They look like crap every year and get it together at the end.

How was Brady a "guru offensive coach" when he'd never been an offensive coach prior to coming to LSU?

Because before him your offense scored zero on Bama and sucked dick.

Stop being dumb.

Gus actually has a pretty good record to start the season (one loss maybe)?

He usually falls apart at the end too. His teams seem to be strongest late mid season.

I fully expect LSU to be pretty sloppy on both sides of the ball but still be able to beat MSU by 14 points.

So, Brady took the playbook and all of the talent with him?

Steve before Brady was a sub par coach. Brady revolutionized it. Steve has to actually prove he can do something now without the guru. You are seriously deluded beyond any doubt if you think Brady was not the reason your offense was so good last year. You had a majority of the same pieces from 2018. Burrow was average in 2018. The biggest difference? A better offensive mind on the staff. Really, really that simple. To delude otherwise to fit your homer narrative is stupid as hell. Brady MADE LSU elite offensively. Before him, Steve struggled to put up three touchdowns a game.

Okay, Sparky. You are extremely butthurt about LSU's recent success, and it shows.

Do you even realize how dumb this statement is?

That seems crazy to me. Hope those players for Tennessee don't come out limping like Navy then.

It's definitely Georgia. Fortunately, our defense should be good enough to win most games while we figure out the offense. This might end up being the best defense we've ever had. It'll at least be our best defense since 2003.
