This is quite the logic pretzel you’ve created here.

If UGA’s offense is so mediocre, how were they blowing everyone out and winning all those games, and then making the playoffs (ie. played more games)?

Both teams land high 4/5 stars on the Oline. If Georgia and Bama are lacking imagine how the rest of the nation feels.

Oh damn. I didn’t realize that Texas was a better team than Oregon last year.

That Tennessee beat down really hurt your feelings. Im sorry

One thing I'll say....

Matt Luke retired a year ago and has enough money to live wherever he wants. He is still in Athens. Despite being MS born and bred, played ball at OM, his dad played ball at OM, his brother played ball at OM, he could live like a king there. He chooses Athens.

Mark Richt retired a couple years ago, and even after a short career at Miami, still lives in Athens. He's got enough money to live anywhere, he chooses Athens.

It really is a great place to live.

Bama. I honestly think if you come in and set the offense on fire and give nick/bama one more title he’ll be gone in less than 4 years after and you’d be inside track for next in line to be bama head coach

Pretty limited and unimpressive honestly.

45.6% of tennessee's receiving yards were 2 targets.
31.7% of uga's receiving yards were 2 targets.

But it is UGA's offense that only has 2 legitimate targets and lacks creativity.

UGA runs a comprehensive NFL style of offense where the gameplan can be completely different week to week.
Tennessee runs a 1/2 field, one read offense which can't even complete contested throws.

Hooker is the low bar in terms of playing QB. The Tennessee offense may have success. But it will never be considered adequate for preparing QBs for the NFL. You will just hope you have the tangibles. Because what they enter Tennessee with is what they leave Tennessee with.

Probably depends on the OC...

If I were a younger guy wanting to build up my coaching credentials, then I'd go to Alabama and learn tProcess.

If I were a former HC who needed Coaching Rehab, then I believe either would be fine. Muschamp is proof of that front Kirby's side.

If I was a seasoned OC wanting to make one last title run, I'd go to Georgia.

Assuming Todd Monken heads back to the NFL, which job is "better?"

Fairly similar situations in that both are championship programs with defensive minded head coaches who will be somewhat hands off as far as the offense goes.

Depends on your priorities as an assistant coach...

I think Kirby has caught and passed Saban by. Not a slight or an insult on Saban, I think he's run out of steam, and they're coasting sheer talent.

UGA is more likely to win another title, or at least the SEC again, for the next few years. Being part of that staff means you likely get a ring and a shot at a good job somewhere else fairly soon.

On the other hand, Saban's loss of fire and increasing age makes the Bama OC job tantalizing for a different reason; Nick's a perfectionist, and if he can't push his team to the top again, he very likely won't tolerate "just winning 10 games a year". He probably retires while still near the top, instead of dragging it out painfully while Tennessee and LSU start to win head-to-head on a regular basis. That means the Bama job (the ultimate "plum job") could come open in the next couple years, and the game is now about offense. The next Bama OC COULD be the next Bama HC.

So, do you take the better short-term job, or do you roll the dice on Saban handing you the keys?

You laugh, because you're missing the point.

You think Bama has owned those series for the last decade+, simply because of the jerseys on your players's backs?
That takes work to do, and now it's going to get harder... and Nick Saban is 71. And just replaced both coordinators. There's going to come a time where he's not wanting to put in the time required to stay elite (I won't say 'stay on top', because that's already happened. Georgia is now on top).
I could see this as his last ride, these being his last coordinators.

Saban is turning 72 in October, Kirby is 47 and working on a 3 peat.

It's easy...GA if you are looking for long term.

If you want a 2-3 year gig and use the job as a jumping off point, then probably Bama is better

1900plus yards between 2 WRs in 13 games is normal.

1800 yards between a TE and possession WR in 15 games means you don’t have any WRs.

They are not the same. Vols top 5 pass catchers are all WRs and the 5th one was injured most of the year (but was a 1,000 yard WR last year)

Try harder spinderella

Horse shite. UGAs O last year was line up a generational TE as many places as possible and hope for the best.

Vols O was predicted on Hookers strength. And they owned the 50/50 ball last year. When you have an athletic QB that has an above average arm in a light speed O the goal is to take what the D gives you in mismatch’s and hot reads. When Milton took over you saw a shift to a more traditional passing route tree.

It really is a great place to live.

Add to that Jim Donnan, Ray Goff and Vince Dooley (RIP) all live/lived in Athens. That's our last 4 head coaches (5 counting our current one).
