He really is. He had a Heisman level guy that won him a NC, and he totally dropped the ball on handling that whole situation.
He went from #3 in the country to not making a bowl game? I get you lose your starting QB, but that would drop you from #3 in the country to a 8 win team still.. He isn't that good of a coach I think.

His offense hasn't changed since 1993 and has been played out IMO unless he starts implementing some of the more modern stuff (see Petrino at UL). His QBs are asked to do way too much and he never wants to run the football (see AU, LSU, FSU). I think he would be mediocore right now in the SEC. I have no doubt he will be AU's next coach if Gus bolts to Arkansas

I think he is pretty much definitely in the SEC West next year.

He has run to pass ratio over the last 6 years have been 52-48. Only once in that timeframe did he pass more than run.
