At 12-12 (7-4) the South Carolina Gamecocks are currently 5th in the SEC
the remaining schedule looks like this:
vs A&M
vs Ole Miss
@ Miss State
vs Bama
@ Mizzou
@ A&M
vs UGA
Where do you see us finish?
And how come our conference record is so good?

Not a chance.

He isn't wrong, you might still need at least one win in the SEC tournament but you would be on the right side of the bubble in that situation.

Because losses to #74 Providence, #77 Oklahoma State, #146 Stony Brook, and #310 (!) Wyoming are very difficult to overcome. A 12-6 SEC record is what it will take to even get back into Tournament discussion and a 13-5 record is what it will take to likely get back to being projected into the Field....... and you're not there yet. Long way to go.
But I think come March, South Carolina is back in the discussion.

The bad thing for the Gamecocks is that of all the teams in the SEC, they Do NOT want or need the SEC Tournament Double-Bye..... but if they finish 12-6 or 13-5, they'll likely get it.
They just need more wins, period. So not playing the first two days of the SEC Tournament probably sets them back. It puts them in a situation in which they'll have to win on Friday of the SEC Tournament to have a shot at making the field. A loss on Friday to a team like Mississippi State might put them back out on the other side of the bubble.

I meant what I'm saying is why do we have such a good conference record?

Many teams improve throughout the season
Didn't yall also have some injuries?

3-4 finish is what I would predict. South Carolina's SEC record looks pretty, but they've won pretty much every close game. I think some of those tossups will likely go against them down the stretch.

At 12-12 (7-4) the South Carolina Gamecocks are currently 5th in the SEC
It's crazy how clear of a demarcation line we are between the good and the bad the league.
Our 4 losses are blowouts against UK, LSU, and UTX2
Our 7 wins are against 7 different SEC schools, all below us in the rankings (I think, haven't checked them in a minute). Honestly, our goal should be just to secure the 4th seed a BYE or 2 in the SEC-T, right?

The only way I think we're getting in is if we win the SEC-T. The NCAA-T has snubbed way better SC teams than this one.

That's exactly what it means. Even our signature wins vs ranked MSU and AU haven't panned out as they're both 5-6 in the league right now.

I agree with Jesus. It’s an NIT year. Which as young as this team is it’s really a good thing. Frank is building a decent team.
