Sitting in traffic today makes me want to move to Alabama and I don't care where it's ranked

Mississippi is a better option, less people.

You know how errybody says “Thank God for Mississippi” when it comes to lists like this?

Then there’s Alabama...

As someone who lives in NWA, Louisiana in general couldn’t compare to even just this region of Arkansas.

I think Alabama is underrated state. Most people who look down on Alabama have never been there. I’d rather live there than 50% of the states. North Alabama has some nice scenery/rolling hills, and their beaches are nice. To me, it’s one of those places that gets a bad rap around the country, but it’s not nearly as bad as people who have never spent time there make it out to be.

Virginia at #3. Literally everyone in Northern Va dislikes it. We are all here for work.

Louisiana ranks second in cf national championships since 2000.

I didn’t research that. But I know it’s ahead of Texas. Can you believe the horns only won one with that recruiting base they have and being the bell cow of that state?

Alabama of course, has a shite-ton more than anyone.

It's a national perception.

When I was younger, a friend of mine brought someone in from Cleveland to visit and he was literally flabbergasted that we didn't have dirt roads. He ended up moving to Alabama a few years later.

I know many people from all over the country that have moved here from California, Texas, Michigan, etc. and absolutely love it. Some have moved away due to their jobs and want to move back.

Don't get me wrong, there are certainly shite-holes in parts of the state like everywhere else. But in the right areas it's a pretty nice place to be.

I think if you live in one of those places, you're probably okay with millions of other people wanting to stay away, regardless of the reason why.

The far eastern and southern parts of Arkansas really drag down the state. The further away from Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee you are in Arkansas the better.

I know you're joking, but there are parts of Arkansas that are absolutely beautiful, especially if you like the outdoors.

^ THIS

Hollywood and the media has always done everything to make Mississippi look bad which has delivered that national perception. We have a saying here that goes “Let them think what they may, it’ll keep them from moving here.”

This ranking is ridiculous. I would pick any state in the SEC footprint before I would move back to Nevada. The criteria in these lists have to be shite that a normal person does not care about.

I said in another thread recently that I'm glad all the experts think Alabama is a shitty place to live. I just wish I could keep people from moving here and vacationing here. All of you dirty, trashy, no good MFers come down here to the coast and trash up the place. Y'all can all stay the frick gone. The locals loathe you btw.
