That front 7 was nasty last night. We will miss them.

I think we had like 6 yards against LSU in November.

I thought that Robinson was pretty respectable last night. Bryce had -43 yards in sacks.

Bama RB game is what kept them down all year yet their OL was still really good.
Losing Metchie and Williams was a blow but a consistent run game is what opens up everything else
Whether it was RB injuries or RB's were not up to typical Tide standards.

It's the big reason LSU has struggled since 2019 - lack of run game.

Ehhhhhh

They played better the last 3 games but they were definitely not up to the usual standard. Especially in the run game.

Congrats on not even holding the worst run team in recent Alabama history to not even their worst rushing total for the season

Agreed. Bama has a lot of upside, but the OL just wasn’t ready this year.

I'm surprised by this total as it seemed like Robinson had some decent carries for 8-10 yards but I think the sack losses caused the rushing totals to be lower

That one run he had where he broke like 4 or 5 tackles was impressive as hell, and it felt like a play that was going to lead to a backbreaking drive.

B-Rob is a very good college running back and would be an ideal part of a 1/2 punch with a breakaway guy, but his YPA is never going to be super high because he just doesn't break big runs. Especially against elite defenses with speed.

Alabama lost 3 tailbacks between camp and midseason. They were actually in a really good spot at tailback heading into the season. B-Rob's ability to fight through contact was a huge factor in Alabama's run game being minimally viable. Trey Sanders is two years removed from a ligament injury and a year removed from a catastrophic car wreck where he almost died. If he's going to be who was supposed to be coming out of HS, it wasn't going to be this year. In fact, he was only likely planned to be a late game blowout tailback this season but ended up being the spell tailback to B-Rob. Furthermore, B-Rob never really played two great games back-to-back this season so whatever problem he had with his foot early this year clearly was a lingering problem.

So yeah, the tailback position went from great to a liability but not due to anything other than god can control. The big problem was that the OL just wasn't worth a damn. The entire right side of the OL was a liability on the ground and when protecting the QB.

Bama has not been physical Bama since 2016. Smoke and mirrors pitch and catch is their game since then and they have superior skill guys so the beat you on 5 big plays.

Yea I'm gonna disagree with you there. Our offensive line/RB combination last year with Neal, Leatherwood, Dickerson, Brown, Najee and B-Rob was mean, physical and punched people in the face.
