Looks like you have to go way back to 2004.
Miss State was outright champ with a 14-2 conference record. One and done losing to Vanderbilt. Kentucky, coached by Tubby Smith, won the SEC tournament. Both State and Kentucky lost in the 2nd round of NCAAs that year.

Probably the same time a 1 seed was called for 24 fouls and their opponent was called for 10. Including a ludicrous chance at a 7 point play as soon as LSU grabbed momentum at the 4 minute mark.
