When is the last time The University of Louisiana was ranked but LSU was not?

It’s possible to talk about other teams during game week. It certainly never stopped LSU fans before.

Are you suggesting that the polls aren't in error when they show Louisiana ranked when we all thought it was Louisiana State?

I believe that's correct. It looks like "Louisiana" is referencing The University of Louisiana, and LSU is unranked.

Proud of the Cajuns. I felt they should've been ranked last year as well, they went 11-2 with both losses to Drinkwitz's App State

Looks like prior to this season, 1943 was the only time ULL (SWLA) spent any time in the AP poll.
SWLA was ranked #15 in the November 1st poll, then dropped out of rankings after a tie to Arkansas A&M (now Arkansas-Monticello).
LSU was ranked #20 in that same poll, then dropped out after a 42-7 loss at Georgia Tech.
SWLA would go on to play Arkansas A&M again in the Oil Bowl at Rice Field in Houston and won 24-7.
So to answer your question, this has never happened.

Oh, Hey Myk, forgot you still posted here.
I hope the LSU vs A1 game is played. However, I won’t be participating in the 1yr ban bet. LSUs starting QB is out for the year and way too many Freshmen playing. Taking such bet would be taking the one legged man in the arse kicking contest. But I’m up for discussing in the bye week next year.
