I knew he'd be good when he lost @ home to UAB and 3yrs later won a natty for LSU. I figured he'd be great when he lost @ home to ULM and 2yrs later won a natty for bama. I knew he'd be great after making that halftime move last year, that some coaches wouldn't have done.

I hate bama but saban is the man.... for now. Let hope we have a great 2018 season!!

I knew Saban was gonna be great when I was in the hospital with his mother during his birth.
The doctor called him a manlet after he came out, and Saban threw a coke bottle at him
Agression like you wouldn't believe

So it took until the 6th national championship until you knew he would be great?

My freshman year at LSU also happened to be Saban's first year at LSU. I knew he would lead us to the promise land the minute he pulled Josh Booty out of the starter role, inserted Rohan, and we upset Tennessee after losing to UAB the week before. That told me he didn't play favorites, and was only interested in winning.

I remember watching the MSU/LSU Independence Bowl game and said to myself he was one hell of a coach always focused on the game. Little did I know he would become our coach. I knew then he was a winner but out matched in that game. The rest became history.
I will be honest a part of me died when he left BR for the NFL. I loved watching our physical play of the game that has not been the same since he left.

Two things:

1) I have LSU alumni in my family (2 that played football for LSU.) Talking to them, when Coach Saban started recruiting the "Bottom" they knew they had a great coach.

2) I had a very good source when Coach Moore was going after Coach Saban that it was very likely Coach Saban was coming to Alabama. When I was on the phone with my cousins and mentioned that Coach Saban might come to Alabama, the line went silent for a good 10 seconds. That is when I knew Alabama had picked the right coach (if he said yes, which he did.)

That’s how I know Orgeron will win a NC. He lost to Troy and will win 2 or 3 Natty’s in the next 5-6 years.

It didn't take the Natty for me to see it. At MSU, I was watching them play Notre Dame when ND was still a power and he destroyed them with defense. Also dominated Ohio State and things at East Lansing had changed.

THE game that did it for me was in 2000 when LSu was playing State and State was dominating the game. I forget the halftime score but State was up and dominating. They continued in the 2nd half BUT you could see LSU playing their arses off. They kept grinding, would make a play here or there. LSU teams of the past would have folded and State wins by 17. LSU kept fighting and fighting and made some plays and grinded out a win against a good State team. It was apparent this was not the same LSU of years past. It wasn't how great LSU was playing but how hard they were playing. There was no quit in this team.
Then, you had the 2001 SECCG. Against a UT team they had ZEEEEEERO business being on the field with. Then....he loses his starting QB. He changes on the fly and LSU goes on to whip a GREAT, GREAT Tennessee team. I thought this coach is something else. He is not your ordinary everyday guy. He fkn coaches his arse off. His players play their arses off. He has a GAMEPLAN for every single situation. I literally said halfway through the season in 2006, Shula is about to be gone and that Saban guy needs to be our next coach. We will hardly ever lose a game with him and our resources. We will be a dynasty that has never been seen before.

Come on guys. You know Saban ain't great. AU's Rabern57 and aubfan say it's the provision of Chargers and other illegal inducements that give him an unfair advantage. He's just another cheatin' SOB. He's at a dirtbag, worthless program that has never won anything, has ghetto like facilities (the pictures you see are like the fake moon landings) and disinterested fans, but he gets good players? In reality, he's a lazy fraud who can't recruit without bags full of $$$. I know Rabern and aubfan are righteous men, just listen to them. One verifiable fact after another from the fans of pure, pristine Auburn.
