"Dat Way" is really UT's official motto for this year. What does it mean? Don't know who approved it or invented it, but it must be brilliant.
EDIT, turns out Coach Jones sat down with staff and players and wanted to come up with term to inspire team for this year...details, accountability, and teamwork, thus the new inspirational acronym. Pretty cool way to motivate team, it may yield good results on field too.

Is this real? There's no way this can be real, right, guys? I mean... come on. That can't be real. No way.
:suddenly remembers Butch Jones is involved:
Oh God...

It is easy to imagine that the players as a group don't really identify with Rocky Top that much.

Because they did a virtual tour of Tuscaloosa.

Quite a motto for a university's football team. At least half of it is an actual word.

First I have heard of it. Thanks for informing me.

At least in Louisiana, the "yats" actually say "dat" when pronouncing the word "that." So the Saints motto, "who dat?" actually makes some illiterate sense... as in "who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints, who dat? who dat?."
By the way, a "yat" is short for "where ya'at?" which is the way most coonazzes greet each other. "Yat" is the Louisiana equivalent of redneck, or moonshiner, or ridgerunner, or barner...
