They grinded themselves this offseason when they convinced themselves that Moorehead was an upgrade to avoid the grim reality that they are the SEC's only stepping stone program.

Coaches go from yall directly to other Power 5 programs without sanctions being involved. That is what a stepping stone program is.
Saban doesn't count because he had a NFL stint in the middle.

Yes. Every non-stepping stone program is that way. Either coaches succeed or their careers are done, Charlie Strong and Muschamp being obvious exceptions.

Mullen is the only coach in my lifetime to jump ship, but he stayed 9 years. I wouldn’t call nearly a decade a steppingstone.
