What were you dead wrong about prior to the 2017 season? What were you right about?

I was wrong about Bielima. Really still thought he was an elite coach that just chose the wrong SEC school to work at. It is difficult to run a true pro-style system without elite talent especially in this conference.

I didn't think Bama would field the nations top ranked defense after losing all that elite talent to the NFL from the goat defense. Did it with an unbelievable amount of injuries to key starters as well.

I was wrong about Auburn quarterback Stidham. Thought the offense wouldn't improve much but he is indeed one of the better passers I saw last year.

I was right thinking that Florida would be an abortion and that Butch Jones would finish the job of destroying the Vol football team.

Thought LSU would lose to Florida. I was dead wrong about that.

Thought Ed O would be a failure, I was right about that.

I was wrong about quarterbacks (thought stidham was the typical AU flop. Thought Eason would keep the job all season).

I was right about the improvement in UGA's rungame and rundefense getting us to the top due to improvement in the trenches.

I echo your thougths. I knew it was a matter of time for Butch. However, I thought the same for Bret, also.
next year
About Auburn, I thought they'd struggle more on offense and their defense would step down. Wrong on both.

I am mixed on LSU. I really think it is a matter of time before O tanks it, and it sure looked the part after Troy, but they rebounded well and next year will be an important year for O.

Further, I figured it was not going to be good for Sumlin. He just hasn't been able to sustain a team over a year's time.

I thought more of McElwain. Didn't think he'd be so bad.

Thought Florida would win the East and compete for the SEC title. Thought Kirby would prove to be mediocre and lose 3-4 games. Dead wrong.

Thought Stidham would be pretty good but not live up to the preseason hype.

If Eason doesn't get hurt, does he keep the job?

I was crucified for stating I didn’t expect the LSU offense to vastly improve

We won't ever know.
If his completion percentage remained at his freshman season level, I would say no.

But I expected it to improve with with 2 springs under his belt and a chance at an improved OL.

Was wrong about how far UGA went this year. Honestly believed we'd win the East, lose the SECCG, and win the Peach Bowl.

Was right about our recruiting exploding; was one of those rare years where the commitments really did hinge on on-field performance. Players and coaches wanted to see that Kirby could back-up what he was selling on the trail

Was wrong about Florida and Tennessee being make or break games for us. Thought Florida would be better than they were and road game against Tennessee would be another injury-fest. I'd say Miss St was our catapult and the first Auburn game was the catalyst for what came after. Was wrong about us losing a close one to Notre Dame.

Was wrong about LSU and Auburn's seasons... sort of. Didn't think LSU would lose 4 games (though 2 or 3) and never would have guessed Troy would beat them at home. Thought Auburn could end up with 4 losses, just didn't/couldn't anticipate correctly what those losses would be. Didn't think Stidham would be as good as he was, nor did I anticipate Kerryon being so key down the stretch.

I was wrong on just about everything in regards to Arkansas.

Wasn't expecting a regression from Austin Allen.

Hopefully Coach Morris will move us in the right direction.

I was wrong about Georgia. I thought they would be an 8-4 or 9-3 type team. Did not expect them to play for the National Championship.

I was right about South Carolina. Predicted 8-4

This is a no-shitter.

I thought Bama was going to go undefeated and win it all.

I was wrong.

But I did believe once Bama was put in the playoffs by the committee that we were going to win it all.

But I wasn't worried because I knew we were playing with house money. Stress-free National Championship. Best scenario for a fan!

Huh?I recall posting specifically about your concerns
of the offensive line throughout the preseason.I believe you thought 9-3 was our cap do to those concerns.

Can't think of anyone who didn't think our defense was going to be elite.

I did not think it would be possible for alabama to win the national championship this year. I thought Bama would lose to FSU. I thought Auburn would win the sec and lose in the playoffs. I thought LSU would improve as a passing offense.

I was right that State was our bitch.

I was wrong in that I didn't realize we'd make their coach's arse quit and run off to another division.

I absolutely had concerns on the OL coming in to 2017. I was explicit how bad I thought the 2016 OL was. Having concerns about replacing 3 starters (2 of which were not good, and 1 who underperformed) does not mean that I didn't forsee improvement. Improvement is a relative term. And I was always on the side of Wynn being our LT because he was undersized for the interior.

Our red zone scoring defense sucked in 2016. We gave up way too many rushing TDs. Similar to the OL in 2016, there was reason to pay attention to the DL as how much improvement was the obvious question.
