Did the general SEC fan predict a sophomore slump for Tebow like they do for Manziel?

No they didn't talk about a slump because he was just a situational player as a freshman.

Tebow didn't start his Freshman year. Plus he won the Heisman his Sophomore year.

Slump..

From the end of 2006 to the beginning of 2007, the whole conference said he couldn't throw, that he was a Fullback with a mediocre arm, and that he would suck.

Then he won the heisman trophy, but he didn't have one come from behind win. SO, THEN they said he was an overrated choke artist that would never win the SEC. That was all of 2007 - 2008. Everyone said Stafford was better and Tebow was a flash in the pan.

Then he won the title in 2008, and almost did it again in 2009. But of course in 2009 they said his success was all Percy Harvin and the UF defense.

Basically Tebow's ENTIRE career, people have said he can't do stuff.

He was a product of the talent around him. I think his epic failure in the NFL also supports that.

Rant just hates.

Reading stuff like this is fun. Like the consternation surrounding Tebow, all the Manziel chatter is fear.

Pure, unadulterated fear.

So...you are here to argue against this?

I will present Stafford's case, current starting QB for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League.

You prevent Tebow's case that doesn't revolve around a bunch of team results on the field...

Team results don't matter when deciding best QB?

Welp, you heard it here first, folks. JFF is officially the greatest QB in SEC history.

The talk was Tebow wouldn't be as good when he was the starter and taking most of the snaps. He was likely to get hurt because of his physical style.

Pretty much everyone was wrong. He was an awesome college player that was playing in a system that fit him really well.

After his freshman year it was pretty much that he couldn't throw. After his sophomore year it was that he would get injured running like that in the SEC.

Are you serious? Denver has one of the strongest rosters in the AFC and them still managing to win with Tebow proves that. A 70 yard bomb from Joe Flacco kept them from being in the AFC Championship last season.

Denver won in spite of Tebow. Denver had an outstanding defense and special teams and that is why they were successful 2 years ago while Tebow was the QB. Denver in 2011 was basically LSU 2011. Great Defense, Great Special teams, sorry QB.

They spent a first round draft pick on Tebow, if he was the reason for their playoff birth and win, they would have kept him and used him to build around for the future, not get rid of him and enter the post-neck surgery Manning sweepstakes...

Epic failure = Only QB Heisman winner to win a playoff game in the last twenty years.
