Is he teaching the rest of the potential murderers …. How to not get caught ???? That can be the only reason a coach with no brains would bring Ray Lewis in to talk to the team after having a player murder someone ….. lol is this real life ? Oats is brain dead .

"His daughter went to Alabama a year-and-a-half ago," he told the Crimson Tide Sports Network. "He went through a similar situation in Atlanta. He played in the NFL. He told me what he thought guys needed to hear."

He elaborated on it after the game.

"I just thought he’s been through, you know, a tragic situation," Oats said, via AL.com. "One of the more mentally tough athletes in my time. His daughter went to Alabama, so I was able to get his number. I talked to him. He didn’t talk to the team or anything. But he kind of talked to me. He’s a man of faith as well. Just kind of told me to share a little word with him, pray with them. That’s what they need right now. His daughter went to school here a year-and-a-half ago, so she’s pretty shook up by the whole situation, too."

Lewis’ daughter Diaymon Lewis, graduated from the University of Alabama in 2020. In addition to her father, Oats also mentioned UA director of athletics Greg Byrne, sports psychologist Brett McCabe and Arizona State men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley as people he reached out to in the wake of Sunday morning’s fatal shooting that resulted in a player’s arrest.

He shared some of the scripture he read to the team after the incident/ahead of its next game.

“The passage read, ‘To those that love God, all things work together for good,’” Oats said. “This obviously doesn’t look like there’s any good in it, but we’re trying to use it to bring the team closer together. It’s a tragic situation. We feel awful for any part of what anybody in our program had to do with it, but we’re trying our best to learn within the group, make better choices.

“We’re praying for Jamea and her family. Her son, especially. That’s heartbreaking. She left a 5-year old here. The whole situation needs a lot of prayer.”

You are the biggest homer I have ever seen. Ray Lewis was involved in a homicide and got away with it because he is Ray Lewis yet you think that was a brilliant strategy? Some things are more important than sports even if it is your obsession

Seeing how this did not happen I guess the answer is, no this is not real life; it is apparently some fantasy you've made up in your mind.

What exactly do you recommend Oats do then? Serious question. What would make you happy that the right steps are being taken?

It’s been the same 3-5 driving the outrage on here all week. At least the Arkansas fan and LSU fans have a reason - Oats kicked their arse last week.

Oklahoma fan chiming in is clearly tagging along and desperate for attention.

Everyone who went to trial for that “homicide” was acquitted by a jury. None of them were Ray Lewis.

*Checks their schedule* They have been a lot of murdering lately. Us included.

What they did to LSU could bring out a tribunal.

You can’t be serious? You are like a human cartoon. He pled to a lesser charge for testifying against his friends in the double homicide and admitted to persuading them to keep quiet about his role in it. I guess you think he was lying. I can’t comprehend being that stupid. A jury found OJ Simpson not guilty as well but Lewis admitted he was there and obstructed justice

He pled guilty to misdemeanor obstruction to avoid going to trial for murder. The individuals who went to trial for murder were both acquitted.

I’m sorry you hate facts.

I’m sorry that you are too stupid to understand what “obstruction of justice” means and he came to a financial settlement with both families outside of court. Those are the actions of innocent men and there was blood inside his limo. He just happens to not be able to find the suit he was wearing that night. Keep fighting the good fight for your university, it needs useful idiots like yourself!

I’m sorry you’re apparently dumb enough to be willing to be put on trial for murder in lieu of pleading guilty to a misdemeanor.

Were the other individuals - plural - acquitted of murder, or not?
