Way to early rankings for next year.
1) Florida- They have 2 excellent freshmen coming in along with best team already in SEC.
2) Kentucky- Will be better but not quite to 2011 level. Not sure any of these freshmen are game changers to the level of Anthony Davis.
3) Alabama- Should be good, but inconsistent offense could cause them to dissapoint.
4) Tennessee- See above.
5) Missouri- May actually be better but have to replace some key players.
6) LSU- NCAA tourney team in my opinion. 3-6 are interchangeable.
7) Arkansas- Big year for Anderson. Needs to win on road.
8) Miss- Should be good on perimeter. Will get beat up inside.
9)Vanderbilt- Young team still a year away. Doesnt have a go to guy.
10)Texas A&M- Will miss Turner, but have some decent talent coming back. Kennedy on hot seat
11)Georgia- Basing this on KCP leaving. If he comes back they are in 5-8 range.
12)South Carolina- Think Martin is great but not sure he is great fit here. Recruting class is average at best.
13)Miss State- needs a couple of years but Rick Ray should have them improved
14) Auburn- dumpster fire. Maybe they can hire a good coach

If ole miss wants to make it back again next year we need grow up really fast on the inside.
Returning Guards:
Snoop White- Best all around player on our team
Jarvis Summers- Solid point guard. Knows how to run our offense
Marshall Henderson- sky is the limit if he improves his game this off-season.
Derrick Millinghouse- had a good freshman year at point but can improve his passing/defense.
Returning in the Paint:
Aaron Jones- Will replace Reggie as our shot blocker down low. Tore his ACL against Kentucky this year.
Demarco Cox- hurt all year. He needs to improve a lot this off-season to make an impact down low. Rumor has it he might walk on to the football team. He was a decent OL prospect out of HS. A few years of basketball would give him a leg up blocking for Freeze.
Terry Brutus- Decent freshman year defensively, but needs to learn how to shoot the ball.
Anthony Perez- get bigger/ play bigger inside.
Incoming freshman-
Dwight Coleby- 6'9 225 center Youtube Highlights
Sebastian Saiz- 6'9 225 center from Spain's U18 national team
highlights
Janari Joesaar- 6'6 185 SF Don't know anything about this one.

The only player capable of generating offense that we return is Fabyon Harris.
There is absolutely no one else to make up for Elston Turner's production...and that was on a 15-loss team.

If KCP stays and Tony Parker can transfer from ucla without losing eligibility then Dawgs are a final 4 lock.

Grant should be fired if Bama doesn't make the tourney next season.
Still pisses me off we couldn't hold a lead for a few games this season to make it to the dance. Frickin' choke artists at times.

So I just saw this thread and read through it. While I understand people's opinion on LSU not being an NCAA team next year, I graciously beg to differ.
For the first time in over 5 years, LSU will have a full 13 man scholarship roster. Not only that, but it will consist of very talented players at positions of need.
The main reason people are excited about the incoming class is it meets every need that LSU has.
Depth Chart:
1. Hickey Jr 5'11"
1. Quarterman Fr 6'5"
1. Collins So 6'3"
2. Stringer Sr 5'9"
2. Morgan So 6'4"
3. Martin Fr 6'8"
3. Coleman Sr 6'5"
3. Hammink So 6'7"
4. JOB Jr 6'9"
4. Mickey Fr 6'7"
4. Courtney SR 6'9"
5. Odo Jr 6'11"
5. Darcy Malone Fr 7'0"
We will not be relying on a ton of freshman like Kentucky who get very good freshman but expect them all to play. While LSU is excited about the incoming class, the excitement comes from a very balanced mixture of experience and freshman rejuvenation.
Martin will likely start at 3 and will be a nightmare for players to guard next season. In high school he played 1 - 5. He compares his game to Lebron in the idea that he has worked very hard on his ball handling and can do almost everything. He is a very athletic 6'8" guy with a post body but SF quickness.
Odo hasn't shown what he can do to the SEC, but he led JUCO in rebounds and blocks last season ('11-'12) before joining the Tigers in January. He will be a redshirt junior and should bring a defensive presence into the paint. He is not much of an offensive threat, but has the athleticism to put back offensive rebounds and ally oops.
LSU should be bringing back All SEC defensive team player Anthony Hickey and 1st team All SEC player Johnny O'Bryant. They have both proven to be top notch SEC players. Andre Stringer will likely start at SG and was able to shoot over 40% from three point range and was about as clutch as possible for LSU.
BUT, the starting lineup isn't where LSU's excitement necessarily comes from. The added depth allows for LSU to use their full court press that was so successful this season for extended periods of time. I wouldn't be surprised to see 40 minutes of hell type speed from LSU next season.
The 7' center we got from Australia is a project but is more than exciting as a prospect. He is athletic and still growing. He may be redshirted if Jones decides The combination of JOB, Courtney, Odo, Martin and Mickey are good enough to hold down the post positions.
LSU brings back Shane Hammink who had trouble changing styles from international play to LSU's style, but with an offseason he may prove to be a vital piece of LSU's offense next year. He was able to be a very efficient rebounder and had a solid ability to get to the rim from the perimeter.
LSU fans are excited because there is a mix of solid, experienced players and a top 10 recruiting class coming in AT POSITIONS OF NEED.
I would certainly consider them a potential NCAA Tournament team in a much improved SEC. I'd imagine about 12 SEC wins wouldn't be out of the question and they will have some OOC games to try and make a early splash.

There is no way we don't improve significantly. If we finished 13th with what we had to deal with this year, worst case scenario we should still beat out UGA and USC.

My premature guess including seed projection
2. Kentucky 25-6 (15-3)
2. Florida 25-6 (14-4)
7. Tennessee 22-9 (13-5)
11. Arkansas 21-10 (11-7)
I think Florida and Kentucky are going to be the best teams in the country next year, but they will beat each other up just enough to keep each other from getting the 1 seed.
-Kentucky has what some are calling the best recruiting class ever. Gotta assume that those guys pan out this time.
-Florida loses its 3 leading scorers but we get 2 big transfers at much needed PF position in Finney-Smith and Harris. Can't imagine Pat Young leaving. Yeguete and Prather return and will improve. Wilbekin will be a monster. We also have 2 highly touted top ten recruits coming in at PG and PF. I don't know what to expect from them but I'm sure they will get minutes at the very least. We will have talent, experience, and depth at every position. Still, even the 04's found a way to stumble through the SEC schedule a bit. Gotta assume we lose @ Kentucky, @ Tennessee, a few toss ups, and maybe another.
-Tennessee has the talent to be a very good team and they will get back to the tourney next year. Arkansas will improve and make the tourney on the bubble.
-I don't like Mizzou's chances with Haith at the helm, mediocre recruiting, and the loss of key big men, but I imagine they will still cause trouble in SEC play. I'll say they go 17-14 (9-9).
-If KCP returns for Georgia then I think they could be a sleeper... though the rest of that team is so atrocious that I don't think they can make the dance w/o the SECCG title. I'll say they go 19-12 (12-6)
-I think Vandy will rebound nicely from a disaster season after they lost their whole team. Stallings is a good coach and we saw that team improve a lot at the end of the season. Still I see them on the outside looking in come selection time. I'll say they go 20-11 (10-8).

Oh and I don't think Ole Miss makes it next year. I think that they overcame Henderson more than they relied on him this year. And those BEASTS that bailed him out--Holloway and Buckner--are gone. Those guys were monsters. (Actually I think Ole Miss would have been a much higher seed and couldve made a big tourney run w/o henderson this season).
Seemed like most games you could count on Henderson to shoot a terrible percentage and essentially throw away half their possessions with terrible shot selection. And since it sounds like Kennedy doesn't want to change his free-shooting ways, I don't think Mississippi will be too good next year.
I'll say they go 18-13 (9-9)

Since when is parker coming to UGA? Not doubting it... just curious. I'm actually a UGA student so i'd welcome it with open arms.

why would he get no penalty? Sounds like a stretch.
Then again I really haven't been following this whatsoever

Rumors on the paid sites he is tired of UCLA and wants to come home and play here.

UCLA might be getting hit with major infractions which means underclassmen can get a free pass to transfer. Much like the Penn State back who transferred to USC

No mention of Alabama? Went 12-6, looked decent in the NIT, returns everyone, as well as adding a few 4* bigs.
I think the locks next season should be UF, UK, UT, and Alabama. Arkansas, Missouri, LSU, Ole Miss, Vandy, and Georgia should be fighting it out for one or two more slots.

Missing the tourney next year would be a huge failure. We return everyone. Our biggest weakness this year was our post and we've brought in some help there.

I truely believe the SEC will get in 5 to 6 teams next year. I think They did a very good job with recruiting.
I could easily see Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama, LSU and Tennessee making it.

Take note Ole Miss, Bama, etc. Schedule OOC to make the tournament, not try to pad wins, all that does is drag the conference down.
Our Non-conf SOS: 84
Arkansas Non-conf SOS: 122
I want to schedule more big name teams, as well, but our non-conference schedule wasn't as bad as most of the other teams. Some SEC fans think their schedule is strong because they schedule two big name teams to kick their arse and then schedule a cakewalk the rest of the way. That is the real problem with the SEC's non-conference scheduling.
