We arent starting 4 or 5 freshmen. Nobody is expecting Martin or Mickey to come and average 15-20/8-10 their first year either. They are just talented pieces added to what is already a sound foundation with experience in Hickey, JOB III, Stringer, Morgan and Coleman. Newcomers will have a role and none are expected to be superstars like UK will need in multiple spots. Martin is as good though as a few of those UK freshmen.
Exactly. And the fact that Odo has been practicing with the team all year should make his transition easier.

Courtney was the most underrated player in the SEC this year.

Laugh all you want but you're the one arguing that a junior that has average a measly 3 points and 3 boards a game is going to take over the SEC.

In Cox's last game as a sophomore, a 96-93 OT loss, he played 10 minutes, scored 4 points, and had 1 rebound.
Sophomore slump?
Sophomore slump?

He's done nothing in his career to warrant the adjectives of "talented" and "solid."
quote:Nah. He wasn't the only guy whom I listed will make Ole Miss at least somewhat formidable next season. Jones was giving Ole Miss good interior defense before he got hurt. Brutus and Perez both looked decent down the stretch. Perez was highly-rated out of high school, just like Mickey and Martin. But those guys are obviously going to live up to their rating and Perez won't, because, well, that's what you desperately want to happen.
Is that hard to grasp? Somehow you're relying on a nobody that has done nothing to prove that he can replace Holloway and make OM a formidable opponent next year.

You're talking about 3 vs. 2 points a game. Guys who take like 2 or 3 shots a game. I'm not arguing Courtney is a solid player. I was making fun of you because up to this point Cox = Courtney.

Am I touting them as incomers that are going to fill the shoes of Holloway? Or am I merely stating that I expect them to contribute and I think both are talents?
Three years ago, you could argue that Cox was a talent but was unproven. But at this point, you are going to have trouble making that argument. Obviously enough folks think Mickey warrants a top 50 ranking in the country, which is pretty good.

Perez? Are you fricking serious? The guy averaged six minutes a game? Was he hurt too or just terrible like Cox?

Nobody said they have been solid players on an SEC team because THEY HAVEN'T PLAYED ON ONE
That's what you're arguing for Cox. Dude has had 2 full years to show his talent and averaged 3 points and 3 boards in year 2 and looked even WORSE this year.

How else is OM going to replace the production of Holloway and Buckner?
Cox and Perez?

Why is it so hard to grasp the concept that sometimes freshman and sophomores take a few years to develop and sit behind more experienced players?
Scottie Wilbekin only averaged 2.6 points as a sophomore. We obviously should have processed him.

They're not, and they were an NIT team with them before a nice run late.
They will be terrible next year.

Scottie Wilbekin plays on a very talented team so sitting doesn't strike me as odd. OM is not Florida from a talent standpoint. Your analogy is flawed.

Their guards will have to step up and be the focal point of the offense.
But I do expect that Jones, Cox, Brutus, and Perez will be a decent frontline defensively and will rebound fairly well.

This happens every year. Everyone goes if blah blah stays, then we get blah blah, and blah blah returns and he'll get 100000 times better so I know we will make the tourney.
No. Chances are your team won't make the tourney. Sorry

On a scale of 1-10 how badly do you want someone in this thread to pay attention to you?

They better prove to be somewhat productive. With the streaky shooting Henderson and no inside presence to worry about, he'll have his work cut out for him. That is, if he stays/doesn't get in trouble or something.
