It very well could. It does for teams all the time. It's done so for LSU before.

Well yeah duh, they lose a lot and they're not bringing in anyone worth a shite.

But they did have highly-rated recruits backing up Holloway and Buckner who will be ready to step up.

My point is that a lot of people are ready to crown JJ as our savior but I'm not there yet. The recruiting is promising but we don't know how good these kids are gonna be

I'm not crowning him anything. We very much improved this year, the recruiting was as good as it's ever been, and I like where we are moving forward.

The only recruit LSU has coming in who will make an immediate impact is Martin.

The others will contribute but aren't going to blow anybody away.

JOB could leave also. Why didn't you mention that?

Everything we have heard on our side he isn't leaving. He also isn't considered a draft pick where as both of those guys are. There's no reason to think JOB III is leaving right now, where there are concerns for both of those Tennessee guys.

Basketball is a very easy sport to see HUGE changes from one year to the next. Case in point...

2008 = 13-21, 6-10 in conference
2009 = 26-7, 13-3 in conference (SEC Champs)

And the difference in personnel between those 2 teams is nowhere near as great as it will be from this year's team to next year's.

I am by no means saying we will be a Top 10 team in the country or anything like that, but the amount of talent we'll have on the team is just as good if not better than we had on that 2009 team...with plenty of experience to boot. The biggest problem for LSU the last several years has been zero depth. We've been operating at a bit under 13 scholarships the last 3 years and it's shown. This year we started a walk on at center and outside of JOB III had no big worth a crap.

Perez and Cox were both 4*s.

Aaron Jones was only a 3*, but he's actually proven that he can be a solid college player, unlike most of LSU's frontcourt.

Um, John Odo and Jordan Mickey will have huge parts on the team next year.

And Charles Carmouche wasn't expected to be as productive as he was for LSU this year. Fact of the matter is that you have no idea. These are highly regarded guys. One player can change a team.

I have no clue if Martin can have that type of impact, but I was at the Final Four when Carmello helped take Syracuse to the crown. I'm by no means making that kind of statement about LSU next year, but to act like a single player can't change the dynamics of a team is absurd. One player on this years LSU team could have made an enormous difference.

Most of our front court hasn't played yet for next year (at LSU at least). Our front court next year will be a JOB III with Odo and lots of Martin and Mickey. Martin and Mickey being very highly touted players and Odo should be what Coty Clarke is for Arkansas but possibly even better.

It would take teams scheduling OOC and winning those games.

Then the conference SOS would help make it happen.

Can't have teams losing to Mercer, Indiana St., Southern, Tulane, etc OOC, drags everything down...

You are wasting your time man.

If there is one thing I've ever learned on this forum, it's that LSU fans know jack shite about basketball.

Any time I pop into a basketball related discussion you come across a bunch of LSU fans talking out of their arse having no real clue one way or the other.

I tend to just avoid it, but battle on if you must, just remember, #10ish recruiting class = Sweet 16 in one season.

Cox is a junior this year. What are you even talking about? He averaged 6 minutes a game and 1 point. He's the Holloway replacement that can't make a dent in the lineup three years into the program that you're so high on?

Excuse me while I

He was also hurt all year and should get a medical redshirt.
